DANIEL SAVIO´S (AND FLOGSTAS) FIRST SOLO LP. “Dirty Bomb” and its a 10 song all skweee album on vinyl. 2009 predicted will be The Year of the Skweee, The man who coined the name “skweee”. Sweden’s Kool DJ Dust a.k.a. Daniel Savio was the first skweee DJ and its second producer. Daniel Savio: I have been DJing since the mid-nineties and buying records since my early childhood. It all goes back to my love for hip hop music and culture. Graffiti was my main thing but I also had some attempts to rap and dance (crazy fake breaking). So hip hop I would say is my main influence and when I started DJing it was all about hip hop. But early on I was curious about the old school breaks/originals/samples so from that I got into funk, soul, disco, rock and of course the early electro stuff like Kraftwerk and Arthur Baker, Paul Hardcastle, etc, etc. So its a dream come true for me. It will be out in early 2009, February / March. I have been working on it for a couple of years. So 2009 will be hectic, Skweee-alistic and funky fresh!

Randy Barracuda LP

Zap! The white horse of spastic computer funk and synthesized Scandinavian afro-minimalism is back to burn! Randy Barracuda, best known as a member of the legendary elecro bassoutfit
Imatran Voima and as one of the pioneers of the Skweee-movement, releases his solo-album after a decade of wait! Starkly named long-play is Barracuda’s homage for his key influences: 80′s analogue synthesizer funk, romantic modern soul and drugged out cosmic psychedelia. The musical spectrum of the album varies from the anthemic screeching of “Ketamine Strut” and “Skweee Like A Pig” to melancholic spacey moods of “Hungry For Another Touch” and “Love Axe/Heavy Metal”.
Guest starring Michael Black Electro as “the voice”. But, enough advertising now. (As Leonard Bernstein said: “The joy of music should never be interrupted by a commercial”).

Rigas den Andre
Guilty Feet, No Rhythm LP

What’s wrong with Rigas den Andre? He’s young, gifted and comes from a well-respected noble family and still his music speaks the ancient mournful language of the rocky Swedish archipelago. Because of this, RDA could be easily dubbed as the meister of melancholic electronic party music. Or “blue funk” as the exact term should be in my opinion. Take my word and dive in to the sea of emotions provided by RDA’s new album “Guilty Feet, No Rhythm”. I promise You confusion. Take a journey through the depressing digital funk of “No Heaven” or reach for the joyous synthesizer excursions of “W.A.S.P.” or “Go, Rangers, Go!”.And don’t forget to boogaloo to the epic title track which sounds like Timbalandand Björn Ulvaeus had a son. Because, in the end RDA’s music is like life itself: Gloomy, mournful, slow, but oh so funky!
