Boka Records, UK Dubstep label has been in existence since 2005, one of the original purveyors of heavy bass music, and responsible for working with notable artists like Distance, Emalkay, The Others and more recently 16bit, who arrived on the scene with a bang earlier this year with their anthem “Chainsaw Calligraphy” (Featured on the “In The Death Car” EP – BOKA018).

16bit have since gone on to conquer the UK dubstep raves and recently embarked on a US tour, they will be back there in January for an intensive 1 month US tour.

AA) Chainsaw Calligraphy (Original Mix)

Bristol’s finest mashup maestro ‘Dubquack’ has put together this mini-mix of the remixes:

jakes
Jakes

Founding member of the HENCH crew was an obvious target to carry out the Chainsaw remix, being a big fan of the original and regularly rinsing the track out in the raves, he’s given the track the signature Jakes sound, psychedelic bass-lines and heavyweight percussion, watch out for the sample too, see if you recognise it….Support so far from N-Type (Rinse FM), Walsh, Truth, Marlow, Hatcha.

propatingz
PropaTingz

UK born but now living in LA PropaTingz has his musical history in the Breaks scene, a long purveyor of the sound and a regular on the live scene he has more recently switched his style and has been directly influenced by artists like 16bit. He has big releases lined up and is beginning to cause quite a stir with his tracks featuring on Radio 1 etc…..def one to look out for. His remix was written over the course of a year, alot of blood sweat and tears have gone into it, and the listener will realise this when he/she hears it, devastating, pure and simple. Support so far coming from Ooah and the Glitch Mob crew, Akira Kiteshi, N-Type.

kanji
Kanji Kinetic

UK based bass extremist, affiliated with labels like ElectroStimulation and Trouble & Bass, this boy knows how to make RIPPERS! He’s done what could be described as the most straight-up remix based on the original, given it a 4×4 rhythm and created the most hype tune for an age, support so far coming from Kid606, Akira Kiteshi, Warlock, Squire Of Gothos.

Debut release on Boka Records for Hungarian based production maestro Matt-U. Fresh from a release on N-Type’s label Wheel & Deal, these two unique deep and dark productions have been kept relatively under wraps until now, currently receiving support from the likes of JAKES, N-TYPE, DJ MADD, VISTA, FLIGHT (Rinse FM) and NICK ARGON (Sub FM). “Can’t Wake Up” is a high energy thriller not to dissimilar from the sounds of Benga, literally impossible to keep still to this one, industrial skank-out business, “Whyle The F**k Out” is a fresh funk-tastic deep roller which is gunna surprise a lot of people.
