CITRUSCD004 Jade Presents The Venom Album – Jade Citrus Recordings CD x 2
Hungary is the fresh birthplace of so many top producers within the DnB scene. Mindscape, Matt-U, Chris.SU, SKC. But this one producer has managed to produce so many killer tracks Citrus could not just leave it alone… This Producer is Jade.. And his Venom LP is the result of his hard work. A deadly collection of productions that, once injected into the eardrum will grasp the host track by track untill there isnt anything left! The LP starts off with the title track “Venom” where Jade teams up with the legendary Rymetyme! This time things get different as the rugged sounds will take down venues limb by limb like you havent heard before. Heavy over the top Neuro sounds rampage through the speakers to break loose the mayhem! Then its up to the second track.. the track suitably named “No Cure”… A Lethal tune that will keep you grasping for air every time.. This Teched out battering-ram is made for even the biggest powerhouses to get blown to pieces in just a single hit.. “Hit em in between the eyes” click click BOOM! Track 3 contains the Icicle rework of “This Is My World” (the original features on the sampler) stripping down the original to an ice cold minimalistic sound, oldskool tech-steppin vibes are definitely the case here but with an upgraded 2009 feel! Then for track 4 Jade teams up with longtime producer friend Matt-U.. They did their first release together so this was a logical step. And if logical could sound so phat as this.. then logical is the way to go.. Moblaw is a straight up elblow greaser thatll make you get messy on the dancefloor. The funk just oozes off this tight production thatll make you scream for more! Then on to 5… where Jade remixes three of his best friends.. namely the dutch trio thats Black Sun Empire. This remix tributes the trio as they where the first ones to recognise the skill of Jade’s production.. But now its time to repay the favor as his remix gives stasis that extra piece of fire it needed as it turns into a piece of dancefloor filth like no other. Have the tables turned?
Then for the next one where Jade teams up with another group of comrades.. namely the Mindscape boys! These guys arent by all means strangers to the Citrus label so their track “Banshee” fits on here like Rum & Coke.. Just listen and let yourself get transported to the early 2000 era of DnB. But with a heavy 2009 taste. Then for 7th Jade goes all solo style with Forged Reality.. this shows how versatile Jade can be when he’s alone in the studio. halfstep, rolling this one goes from the one to the next without any trouble. Track 8.. Jade goes all out with Mindscape & Axiom! Heavy synthy basslines rip open the track just be pummled by the beat towering beats that make this tune a pounder beyond propertions! No 9 is the fantastic Phace rework of Cryptic which was first featured on Jade’s Ready EP.. Nothing but love for Phace and you know why… Germafunk all the way! nice and nerdy! For the final track its Jade’s My World which as also featured as his Sampler for this fantastic Album.

The second in a short series of releases featuring label head and founder Spirit pairing up with a new signing. First up is Spirit with ‘Smashed’, an unrelenting wall of twisting bass tones and dubbed out vocal stabs swirling around thumping drums being supported by Storm, Friction, Bailey, Raiden and Marcus Intalex amongst others. Flip over and you’ll find one of the Netherland’s hottest new talents in June Miller, already building a name for themselves with a host of releases set to come on some of the scene’s finest and more discerning labels. A firm favourite of Doc Scott as well as finding it’s way into the sets of the likes of Bailey, C4C and a host of others, ‘Soya Sushi’ combines deep moody atmospherics with a seriously funky groove, led by it’s twisting bass work and thumping tone hook.

As if from nowhere he’s managed to get the whole drum & bass scene and more talking about him earning support from such luminaries as Fabio and Gilles Peterson. The ‘Noir EP’ comes not a moment too soon, a release to truly mark his arrival in electronic music and which looks set to turn even more heads. From the sheer sonic brilliance of the film score-inspired title track ‘Noir’ through to the skeletal break and sparse tendancies of the final ‘Tribe’, Rockwell is unfearing in his quest for dark, brooding experimentation that hasn’t been heard in years in drum & bass. An ambition to re-definine the term deep shines though on ‘Stay Calm’, a track that refreshes with glitchy FX, industrial pads and grounding bass that strikes the fear whilst the collaboration with Zero T ‘Bone Structure’ continues the theme with astounding results. Make no mistake people will double-take on this one.
An extraordinary EP that will appeal to lovers of both electronica and pure drum & bass alike. Just add an arm-chair and headphones for maximum satisfaction.

EXIT019 Wrong Way – Abstract Elements Exit Records 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy. The first release for 2010 on Exit records comes in the form of two tracks by Russian newcomers Abstract Elements, made up of two producers Bop and Diagram. Their tracks caught the attention of label owner dBridge with their seemingly fearless quest for experimentation and have featured heavily in the sets of DJs such as dBridge, Instra:mental, Loxy, ASC and also on the Autonomic podcasts. Both tracks sit just as comfortably at clubs such as FWD as they do in an all out DnB party. “Wrong Way” takes us into a void of sound and space, built around a metronomic radar blip, the track sinks down deep through the uncharted depths of the subsonic bass realms. Attention to detail, intricate use of atmospheric sound effects and devastating low end bass give this track a unique sensation which just cannot be ignored. Repeated listening is required to fully explore the vast soundscape that they have created here. “Abysmal Depth” could be described as a distorted fusion of dub and electronica but also delves into the 4×4 genre.
Once again, their use of constantly transforming effects and mood altering atmospherics give this track the quality of being able to take the listener on a journey and leaves them with an awkward sense of not knowing exactly where they’ve just been. In collaboration with London’s Sigha, ‘Seperation’ is a pounding atmospheric thumper, silken threads of sound woven around pulsing beats and surgical percussion,expertly designed and constructed to create perpetual forward motion. ‘Lesser People’ is somewhat harder – crisp drums, ticking hats and solid bass drones flying past at supersonic speed as insane tech FX rip the veryair asunder. Bristol based Dubstep label Punch Drunk Records are on a heater at the moment, having recently released the RSD LP compilation (”Good Energy. A Singles Compilation”) they are shortly due to release a debut album from label boss Peverelist entitled “Jarvik Mindstate”. This collection follows up a succession of 12” releases over the past two years for Skull Disco, Tectonic and Punch Drunk and remixes for Shackleton, Pole and Shed. LIMITED EDITION 500 copies on Black vinyl, untreated black reverse board with overprinted logo. Sabre has built a name for a certain depth in his productions, and here forces the creation of a new project for Darkestral (Excursions) which came into being on hearing this cinematic trio of pieces. Falling into musically evocative areas such as soundtrack composition, the more minimal region of dubstep and future drum & bass, Sabre here gives vent to his more thoughtful, isolationist side, where constraints have been thrown out in favour of musical freedom and the use of naturalistic instrumentation, beautiful cellos and strings perfectly encapsulate the feeling of being on a lone drift in outer space, with a certain chilled air wrapping all three pieces.
Darkestral Excursions has been brought into existence to display a series of aural ventures into the farther reaches of the beat spectrum, an edge of universe collection of anti-gravity constructs for the adventurous inner-space traveller Selected as first pilot on this mission, the cinematic compositions of Sabre, already known for a sense of spacial definition but here freed of dancefloor constraint and able to run free with the more esoteric perspective often contained in his productions ‘One Man Jettison’ in title and sound design called for the creation of the latest Darkestral project, a particular home at the front of the mothership, a capsule prepared to journey to the outer reaches, solitary and mournful, encapsulated by the strings and feeling that an intrepid journey into the unknown was upon us all, that moves into a feeling of readiness to see the mission through. ‘Boundary pt.1 (afterthought)’ follows as an epilogue and a prologue to a fantastical new horizon, textured and psychedelic, beatless and airy… ‘Decorum’ – strings and a glowing halo at the end of worlds introduces a muted brass and lush, though exploratory off-step beat as the touchdown on a planets surface is described in a sense of wonderment.

RUNTIMELP001 Messages from the Void – Elemental Runtime Records 12″ Vinyl x 3
Elemental’s imminent debut LP “Messages from the Void” is a collection of work from the last four years, spanning a range of styles, made using a combination of new and old technologies, including Elemental’s beloved modular synthesizer. He is proud to be able to present it to the world – a favour returned for all of the amazing music that has touched him throughout his years as a music listener and raver. Elemental’s fresh take on the dubstep sound has got both scene stalwarts and eclectic tastemakers singing his praises. Blending components of acid house, Detroit techno, ‘golden age’ drum & bass, vintage dubwise and African rhythm, his sound is rich in texture and musical heritage, yet remains eminently danceable. The North London based producer – Adam Wilson to his friends – started dabbling with production in 1994 with a Roland D5 and Atari ST while he was still at school. Soon after he invested in an Akai S2000 sampler, bought a PC, and the rest, as they say, is history. In the nineties he predominantly focused on making drum and bass and experimental electronica, eventually putting out his first drum and bass release as a white label off his own back. A few years later, together with schoolmate Dario Swade, they formed the breakbeat garage duo Elemental & 3D, releasing on their own label Runtime Records in 2002. A couple of years later after some time abroad, Elemental caught the likes of Search & Destroy on Rinse FM and instantly found the sound he had been looking for: dark, heavy, syncopated beats and bass. Since 2004, Elemental has been focused on bringing his newly developed sound to the masses. Combining dubbed out dirty bass lines with hypnotising rhythms, he has released on labels such as Destructive, Hotflush, Pitch Black, Halo Beats, and his own imprint Runtime, with his seminal track “Soulfire” one of the highlights on Tayo’s Fabriclive mix CD. He was officially the first person to do a live dubstep performance, mixing up and dubbing components of his productions using Ableton Live to rapturous audiences across the world: no set is ever the same twice.

DST008 Blues Is Now – Funk Ethics Destructive Records 12″ Vinyl
3-track debut release from the UK’s Funk Ethics, first noticed and permanently represented by London’s legendary Dubstep label Destructive Records. “Blues Is Now” is the tune that launched FE into the limelight and was quickly picked up by Mary Anne Hobbs and showcased on her Radio 1 show, it was originally featured on the Destructive CD album which came out fairly recently (DSTCD001). Lisbon-based Octa Push are the newest recruits on the Iberian label and here they come up with the goods on this very distinctive international flavoured 3-tracker – following their debut vinyl release on Soul Jazz Records, Stepper’s Delight 2 compilation. Having blown up the Red Bull Stage at this year’s Sonar in Barcelona and wowed people at Fabric and the Glade Festival with their unique flow; which sees them combine the Portuguese and African sound spliced with elements of UK Garage, Dancehall and Techno. Project Squared aims to release 12” vinyl and download projects that are dance floor focused, that test new ground and that have depth as well as impact. We release music that covers the space between Techno and Dubstep as well as music that stays more firmly within those two genres. Created as a sub-label of Project Mooncircle due to a change in taste from one of the co-ordinators of that label, we were amazed to find two artists (Asusu and Furesshu) that were not signed such was the quality of their music. Still in early stages, the label aims to keep releasing high quality dance music, to gather more artists and to change and evolve as styles change and evolve… Most importantly as our own tastes change and evolve. Project Squared is a sub-label of Project Mooncircle and is affiliated with HHV.de. The label is co-run by Paul Cooper and Gordon Gieseking. Artwork and design is by Gordon Gieseking. Asusu – Now a dubstep producer with his sound tied to the deeper side of things, Asusu has moved from roots in hip hop and trip hop through to garage, dubstep and dub techno. Recently he has received radio play from various DJ’s on Sub FM, Dubstep FM and Reload Radio, and DJ’s himself (dubstep, garage & techno) mainly in Bath and Bristol. Finish copy. Born and bred in Croydon, 19-year old Justin Cantor, a.k.a Lost, is the latest addition to the acclaimed HENCH crew. Somewhat of a child prodigy, Justin started DJ-ing at an early age, and got his first set of decks aged 12. It was not long before Justin’s attention was caught by the burgeoning dubstep movement; inspired by the sounds of Skream and Digital Mystikz’s, he turned his hand to dubstep production early in 2008. Soon after, his debut release came out on Hatcha & N-Type’s ‘Croydon Dubheads’ EP. He recently was named alongside Emalkay and 16 Bit as one to watch in Radio 1xtra’s ‘Future Sound of Dubstep’. NONCD2 Big Skeleton – The Upbeats Non Vogue CD
If you’re The Upbeats, you never know when inspiration is going to hit, or leave you curled up on the floor with laughter-induced abdominal muscles pains. In this particular scenario, their inspiration was a whispered Brazilian ghetto story related to them by a friend. The story of the Caveraos (English translation: Big Skeleton), a super-tank full of Navy Seal trained Brazilian gang members known to terrorise the favelas of Rio De Janeiro, or on good days, distribute Nike sneakers and free cable. Sounds fucked up right?
Anyway, as you’ve probably gathered by now, The Upbeats were suitable taken with this story, and having already floated the idea of a haunted-house album, decided to title their third album Big Skeleton, out of homage to the Caveraos; and horror in general.

On the flip side, Wolverhampton’s Fantastic Mr Fox takes the big tools to the original and refashions an epic remix with a wicked 2 step swing. Nuff said, enjoy! As big fans of illustration and graphics, over the last seven releases the label has commissioned some truly wonderful art from a slew of talented artists including Remi/Roughe, Uiu and Phil Blake. For 008, London based Mat Pringle was given the chance to design our first 12” sleeve. His wave and bamboo illustration is wicked and is hand printed onto just 500 limited edition sleeves.

In a manic attempt to fuse half step, electro booty bass, niche and primates into one coherent whole, Geiom came up with the delicious mongrel known as Bubbles. Wonky synths collide with tuff drum patterns in a tense, restless fashion which peaks with a kind of homage to the Midlands favourite underground genre, Bassline house. There’s a kind of psychedelic terror at the heart of this tune but its way too playful to ever become truly menacing….Both these tunes demonstrate the high standard of musical creativity that is coming out of Nottingham right now, but give no indication of an easy to identify style. WICKEDA001 A Nie Dvamata S Bobi Piem Kafe (Ramadanman Refix) – Wickeda Hessle Audio 12″ Vinyl
Hand stamped ltd edition of 500 180g vinyl. In early 2009, Ramadanman was approached by the British Council to participate in a cultural project between the UK and Bulgaria. The Bulgarian public voted for a top 10 of their favourite 90’s Bulgarian pop songs, which were then offered to three UK producers to remix (the others being Hexstatic and Craggz & Parallel Forces). Ramadanman chose the Wickeda song “А ние с Боби двамата пием кафе” (“And I and Bobby, We are Both Drinking Coffee”), and remixed it. The remix was premiered at a British Council‐organised club night in Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, and beforehand, Ramadanman gave a remix workshop session to local producers. Wickeda are a Bulgarian rock band with a strong following. “А ние с Боби двамата пием кафе” was a hit single from their first album Revolution which was released in 1999 and sold over 30,000 copies. Today, Wickeda continue to tour Bulgaria as well as Europe, with regular festival dates.

PL006 Hypothermic EP – Excision Vs The Subdivision Paradise Lost 12″ Vinyl
Redhot hitman Excision meets Paradise Lost labelheads The SubDivision on this longawaited deep, dark funk release, the Hypothermic EP. Hypothermic brings gangsta vocal licks together with the baddest of basslines and slick percussion which combine to sickening effect to devastate the dancefloor. Battered on dubplate by DJs across the spectrum, from Headhunter to Djunya to SPL and the list goes on. Flipside contains the equally sick, but totally different Hypothermic RMX, from the likes of Bristols finest, Komonazmuk, who together with Player 1 mutates the tune into a feast of warped and spaced out basslines which give a different feeling but the same effect, devastation. This one has been cut on dub by dubstep dons throughout the UK and you will no doubt have heard this one at your favorite venue. Winding up the release is the ultradark Titanium, which features heavy guitar riffs and bleak pads, making you want to punch your mother in the stomach. One for the hardcore and headstrong. Quality here, don’t sleep on this.

Finish copy. Unearthed is a new Punch Drunk affiliated label with a mission to reissue classic Bristollian sound system music remastered and cut LOUD to heavyweight 12″ vinyl for the first time. Bass is Maternal is the title track from the legendary original Smith & Mighty long player, eventually released on their own Three Stripe label in 1994 after lengthy delays. It is the manifestation of Smith & Mighty’s proto jungle vision which came to dominate the mid nineties. U Dub is a more traditional dubbed steppers rhythm building to a break beat / junglist crescendo.This first 12″ is fully dubstep compatible and has been recently revived by top selectors such as as Pinch, Shortstuff and Ben UFO. EAR012 Chicken Foot – Clue Kid Earwax 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy. It’s been a while now since Clue Kid released his debut single here on ‘Earwax – ‘Halogen’ and ‘Down & Dirty’ (2006). We are very pleased to have him back on wax, demonstrating his progressions as he’s has mastered his art. The lead track ‘Chicken Foot’ is a one for the clever stepper who likes his wobble to be little more deadly and refined in delivery. It’s a banger alright but one with plenty of restraint and fine style. Opening pads chime a deadly warning before the wonky bassline thumps in, heavily grooved and heavily weighted. Sporadic conga riffs cut through on point, adding to the momentum generated by the no-compromise bassline. Hold out for the 2nd drop as it twists a new way round! Flip then for the equally deadly but more stripped down ‘Shifty’. Perhaps not the most appropriate title ever conceived but a fine piece of heavy artillery nonetheless. Taking a 2005 Loefah sound (and supported by him for this very reason) and redefining it in a Clue Kid style. Excellent quality rhythm and bass music with a dark and unforgiving edge.

The first in a series of Clandestine plates devoted to exposing the production talents of Brighton town. Presenting two producers destined to go a long way: Ultrasound and Hizzle Guy. Two very distinct takes on bass heavy 140bpm music, these tracks have been alternately blissing out and smashing up dancefloors around the world in recent months, so here they are for you to continue the trend. ULTRASOUND consist of two Brighton based DJ producers and a London based sound engineer. Between them these three have released a huge number of tracks across different genres over the years, DJ’d different styles of music in venues all over the shop, worked in record shops and are now behind the highly acclaimed “well rounded” label. For their first release as a production outfit Ultrasound have distilled Dubstep through a refined apparatus of trip-hop, soundsystem warmth, Berlin texture and sheer musical sensibility into something both unique and familiar. HIZZLE GUY is a young Brighton based DJ who along with his Gangoon Dubz crew has taken Brighton by storm with his raw and instinctive DJ style and tunes. That red laser beam coming from its head isn’t welcoming, is it? Back on the chase. Misanthrop Industries has created some frightening beasts in its time, but this one is downright spooky! BRD004 Diamonds Shine – Utopia Breed 12 Inches 12″ Vinyl
Approaching the 4th release, and with it’s catalogue of unique artists, the snowball effect is in full motion for Breed12inches. After recruiting Russian duo Utopia back onto their successive 12” with another big release, the Breed12inches camp have now seen all eyes drawn to them, following huge play and support by some of the scene’s major players. SUB005 Dub Sessions I – Shed SubSolo 12″ Vinyl
Displaying his excellent production skills within techno, Shed moves over to straight up dub sessions with the ‘Dub Shed Sessions I’ on SubSolo. Fierce bass meditative drops circles around the excellent atmospheric keyboard patterns, combined in a way that sounds both fresh and unique, but still rating 100% on Shed’s own trademark sound. Leaning towards a bit of contemporary straight dub techno with ‘Dub Shed – STP Remix’, the focus is on a more direct and present take on the tracks progression, rather than inviting the listener into an already set-up wall of sound. Shaking off the melody from the centre, the spacious patterns reveal themselves as the extreme basslines comes in, removing all doubt about the direction of the track. Dj Silkie And Anti Social Ent. as a collective are definitely ones to watch in 2009/2010 ‘step aside’ is a clever combination of hard hitting bass and breaks with the synthy, melodic and soulful elements as expected from this producer – dark and moody with a jazzy twist. this track drops into what can only be described as low end sub bass over a tribal beat pattern which is enough to shake up any dancefloor – a real stomper ‘illegal immigrant’ comes with similar vibes on the b side, starting off with emotive, dubesque pads and dropping with low down sub stabs over another unconventional but highly effective beat. this represents the other side to the anti social sound which can only be described of as the liquid/deeper dubstep sound. both tracks have had support on the highly acclaimed rinse fm on a weekly basis (www.rinse.fm) and are receiving heavy rotation from djs such as Skream, Mala And N-type in the clubs and not to mention major dubstep icons such as Hatcha from kiss 100 and Maryanne Hobbs from radio 1, this highlights the versatility of these tracks and the potential to cross into dj sets from different genres – a real must for all serious dubsteppers worldwide.

Finish Copy Promo’s. Punch Drunk are on fire at the moment, having just released the RSD compilation album ‘Good Energy (A Singles Compilation)’ which could be described as a ‘best of’, this is one prolifically great dubstep producer. These two tracks featured on the CD now grace a 2 track 12” vinyl release. Signature RSD, dub heavy rollers that are impossible to sit still to. 2NDRP008 Don’t Judge – LV 2nd Drop Records 12″ Vinyl
Hand printed 500 limited edition sleeve edition. Following in Ramadanman’s supreme tribal tracks, comes South London production outfit LV. Fresh from two releases on Hyperdub and remixes for Hemlock, the quartet deliver the rootical Don’t Judge featuring vocals from seasoned UK rootsman Errol Bellot, who has worked with King Tubby among others. On the flip side, Wolverhampton’s Fantastic Mr Fox takes the big tools to the original and refashions an epic remix with a wicked 2 step swing. Nuff said, enjoy! As big fans of illustration and graphics, over the last seven releases the label has commissioned some truly wonderful art from a slew of talented artists including Remi/Roughe, Uiu and Phil Blake.

IDLE001 On & On – Unknown Idle Hands 12″ Vinyl
Idle Hands’ is a new vinyl based electronic music label operating out of Rooted Records in Bristol, with distribution through ST Holdings. The focus of the label is on raw and experimental dancefloor tracks, in the best traditions of the UK underground. The first release is anonymous. It is comprised of two tracks. The A side sounds a bit techno, the B side has a nice skank to it.

Boka Records hire the services of in-demand producer AKIRA KITESHI to remix the recent DJ Madd hit entitled ‘Better With You’, the original having being supported by the likes of 16BIT, IKONIKA, ALEXANDER NUT and Akira Kiteshi themselves. This remix is causing quite a stir on the dubstep circuit with support from N-TYPE, BUNZER0, TRUTH, and BOBBY & NIHAL (Radio1) who continue to support the Akira sound!

WICKEDA001 A Nie Dvamata S Bobi Piem Kafe (Ramadanman Refix) – Wickeda Hessle Audio 12″ Vinyl
Hand stamped ltd edition of 500 180g vinyl. In early 2009, Ramadanman was approached by the British Council to participate in a cultural project between the UK and Bulgaria. The Bulgarian public voted for a top 10 of their favourite 90’s Bulgarian pop songs, which were then offered to three UK producers to remix (the others being Hexstatic and Craggz & Parallel Forces). Ramadanman chose the Wickeda song “А ние с Боби двамата пием кафе” (“And I and Bobby, We are Both Drinking Coffee”), and remixed it. The remix was premiered at a British Council‐organised club night in Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, and beforehand, Ramadanman gave a remix workshop session to local producers. Wickeda are a Bulgarian rock band with a strong following. “А ние с Боби двамата пием кафе” was a hit single from their first album Revolution which was released in 1999 and sold over 30,000 copies. Today, Wickeda continue to tour Bulgaria as well as Europe, with regular festival dates.

CHST007 Twilight / V (Pinch Remix) – Distance Chestplate 12″ Vinyl
Fresh from tours in the USA and Australia, Distance commits two more of his killer dubplates to vinyl, putting an evil smirk on the face of Dubstep DJs and fans everywhere. Now seven releases in, the Chestplate imprint is well and truly established as a buy-on-sight label. This time around sees a new Distance anthem on side A, accompanied by a Pinch reversion of Distance’s modern classic ‘V’ on the flip. Twilight is Distance in primetime dancefloor destruction mode. No messin’! The theremin like spooky ambient melodies oscillate and brood, making way for the trademark Distance crunching riff. It smacks of Distance on top of his game. It slays and it dips, only to come back harder. This one should remind the Dubstep new skool that you don’t have to tear your brain out to make tear out. Turn the 12 over and original badman, Bristol lynchpin Pinch, comes correct with his version of the Distance speaker wrecker V. Pinch twists up and reconfigures the original into a new sonic horror show. This should be the office ambience of torture chambers everywhere. Pinch suppresses the drive and riff of Distance’s version, accentuating the more unnerving elements; yes it’s subtle, but it’s not any less devastating. If the system packs enough punch, this one will literally turn guts. Major support comes from the crop of discerning dubstep DJs, with full blessings coming from the likes of Skream, Mary Anne Hobbs and Hatcha. Alongside contemporaries like Benga, Skream, Pinch and Digital Mystikz, Distance has been responsible for shaping the Dubstep sound as we know it today. Distance fans can also check out his brand new album entitled Repercussions, out now on Planet Mu, accompanied by a second CD of all the Chestplate tracks to date.

Viennese producer Tenchu is no greenhorn, no newcomer prodigy. PL006 Hypothermic EP – Excision Vs The Subdivision Paradise Lost 12″ Vinyl
Redhot hitman Excision meets Paradise Lost labelheads The SubDivision on this longawaited deep, dark funk release, the Hypothermic EP. Hypothermic brings gangsta vocal licks together with the baddest of basslines and slick percussion which combine to sickening effect to devastate the dancefloor. Battered on dubplate by DJs across the spectrum, from Headhunter to Djunya to SPL and the list goes on. Flipside contains the equally sick, but totally different Hypothermic RMX, from the likes of Bristols finest, Komonazmuk, who together with Player 1 mutates the tune into a feast of warped and spaced out basslines which give a different feeling but the same effect, devastation. This one has been cut on dub by dubstep dons throughout the UK and you will no doubt have heard this one at your favorite venue. Winding up the release is the ultradark Titanium, which features heavy guitar riffs and bleak pads, making you want to punch your mother in the stomach. One for the hardcore and headstrong. Quality here, don’t sleep on this.
