SUICIDE058 – Klute – Scooter / Party Hands – 12″ Vinyl
Klute’s triumphant new release is a break driven melodic tour de force. Both sides caned by all the greats including Marcus Intalex, London Elektricty, Nu Tone & Logistics, its even been nominated for an Ivor Nevello award for outstanding instrumental composition. Get involved with what makes drum and bass so great.”

DETAIL007 – Lynx, Malibu & Hellrazor / Lynx & Hellrazor – Sleazy / Taboo – 12″ Vinyl
Detail 007 sees Lynx joined by fellow studio partner Hellrazor and co writer of the classic Mariachi track Malibu. Sleazy, the A side is a pure filthy dirty dnb porn track, with sliding greased up basses, nasty crunched up beat and porn vocals for good measure! Taboo is on a moody tribal vibe, akin to Lynx’s previous hit Shaku. Weird tribal vocals and percussion scatter the track and build up to the crescendo of the second drop which sounds huge in a club!As supported by Hype, Shy FX, Marcus Intalex, Marky, John B, Lenzman and Scrillex!!

KOKESHI006 – Bulb – Tenderness – 12″ Vinyl
Limited Pink Vinyl!. Kokeshi changes the tempo this time offering two tunes from Russia’s Bulb. ‘Tenderness’ comes with an 80s Vangelis vibe that offers the emotional aesthetic that Kokeshi is known for. With its non 2 step beats it won’t be recognisable as drum’n'bass despite having the same tempo as most d’n'b tunes. For the DJ’s, catch the flip side which offers a dance-floor friendly yet uber deep feel from the d’n'b tune ‘Heartless’.

SYMM007 – Break & Die / Need For Mirrors – Slow Down VIP / Skip Rope – 12″ Vinyl
Break & Die’s ‘Slow Down’ is undoubtedly one of the most played and best loved drum & bass tunes of the past 12 months, and following on from the enormous success that was Break’s 2nd album ‘Resistance’. Symmetry Recordings returns with a special VIP mix of the track, backed with a debut on the label for Need For Mirrors. The long anticipated ‘Slow Down’ VIP has everything we loved about the original with a whole lot more. With its unbeatable intro, breaking into the familiar deep and dark roller, there is something about this tune that others are yet to touch upon. The vocals guide the way accompanied by a heavier take on the drums that provides a new and exciting alternative. On the flip is ‘Skip Rope’ by Need For Mirrors (Mosus & HLZ), taking depth of bass to a new level. The clean-cut bassline keeps the energy high and fast paced, while the simple yet effective use of drums makes the feet bounce. Creating anticipation with dark and atmospheric interludes with tech-tribal fx create an almost mystic mood – this is Drum & Bass wizardry at its best. The high expectations for the return of Break’s Symmetry label have unquestionably been met. Watch out for release number 8 coming soon…

SECOPS017 – Andy Skopes & Mr Joseph – Call To Arms / Trash Talk – 12″ Vinyl
Solid white Vinyl. I’m honoured to announce the first UK based act is releasing on Secret operations. The duo has been working on music for some time now, but it wasn’t until recently it caught my attention. Mr Joseph is running his night “Fizzy” in London, and had some recent releases out making his name recognised in the drum & bass scene.A. Call To Arms Call to arms is a heavy breaks based track, with nice ethereal strings. The track starts with a nice string intro and female vocal samples, and then explodes in a shuffled breakbeat, reese-bass inferno.AA. Trash Talk This track is a bit different for secret operations, but it has a feel that i think is suitable for the label. The track starts with a static beat and a nice chord, then it switches to growling bassline and subtle but effective percussion.

SWR002 – Equinox / Nebula – Let The Tune Play / Jah Lightning – 12″ Vinyl
Equinox again delves into his archives to find more 8-bit Amiga Amen pressure, this time bringing the jungle pressure with vintage soundclash samples and killer edits on Let The Tune Play. The flip sees Nebula’s Jah Lightning going deep and moody, channelling days gone by. Extremely limited edition, blue translucent vinyl.

NOPPALP001 – Tes La Rok – Them LP – 12″ Vinyl x 3
Tes La Rok’s highly anticipated debut album entitled ‘Them’ will finally see the light of day. Tes La Rok made his name in dubstep circles in 2007 with the massive “Round The World Girls Remix” which immediately positioned him as one of the most exciting artists and definitely one to watch. Anthem releases such as ‘Under The Dancing Feet’ remix for Clouds, ‘Wikidness Remix’ for Mungo’s Hi-Fi, and ‘Up In The Vip / Living Fire’ on Dub Police were soon followed by bookings at DMZ in Brixton and dubstep mecca FWD>> at Plastic People. ‘Them’ features thirteen tracks engineered with precision and care. ‘Invasion’ sets the album off in a deep and minimal flavour followed by the dark and abyssal ‘Earth’. The album title track ‘Them’ mixes techno flavours with tribal percussions and futuristic basslines. ‘Murda’ takes the sound back to the year 2006 which is the year when it was originally composed and luckily recovered from a destroyed hard drive! ‘Virus’ is a dark mutated sci-fi roller followed by ‘You & I’, the track that has been causing waves all over the world. Tes gives a taste of his old junglist roots on 140bpm amen roller ‘Secrets’ and as a follow-up tests his hands on hip hop vibes in ‘Malfunction’. ‘Tribal Ting’ and ‘Spiritual Ting’ showcase the more known Tes La Rok dubwise production and his profound love to dig dub stepper sounds. ‘What’ and ‘From The Shadows’ combine deep & beautiful atmospheres with post-garage drums patterns and subheavy basslines. To bring the album to a finale and give a hint of the future, ‘Turn It Up’ brings in chopped vocals and raw 808 bass. Coming from the land of three months of nearly zero sunlight it is by no means a surprise that this album is deep, dark and futuristic. From the music to the artwork there’s a touch of Bladerunner and Alien. These tracks are being championed by the main players such as Distance, N-Type, Kryptic, Minds, Desto, Pinch, Addison Groove and Cyrus.

The duo’s debut release is the vinyl only ‘Caroline EP’, which features four tracks that mark the genesis of Dreadnought as well as a taster of how the pair’s sound is developing. The individually numbered vinyl-only EP is being pressed in a limited run – there will be no repress. BRK020 – Erra – Stax / Jookup – 12″ Vinyl
Berkane Sol present the vinyl debut of Erra. Erra comes bursting through your speakers with a riot of tuff drums and sweet melody – its like the sound of someone who’s rinsed their console so much that its gone way beyond high scores and into a full on system meltdown. ‘Stax’ starts out with a dreamy intro which leads into the rudest of wake up calls – a proper peak-time jackin’ synth stab married to a smartly evolved bassline, all driven by concussive garage flavoured rhythms. ‘Jookup’ on the flip again demonstrates Erra’s irresistible talent for blending blissful keys with hectic dancefloor moments, this time really bringing the sickly grime synths to the front, with some cute but disembodied vocals punctuating the action. The 12” follows up Erra’s popular L2S digital release ‘Cake Music’, and neatly shows off this young producers rapid development. These tracks have been getting love from people such as: Rod Azlan (Dub Police), Autechre, Al Tourettes (Applepips), Mary Anne Hobbs, Brackles (Rinse FM), N Type (Wheel and Deal), DJ Flight (1 Xtra), Spamchop (Wigflex), 2562 (Tectonic), Shortstuff (Ramp), Cardopusher (Hyperdub), Martyn (3024), Martin Kemp (Blunted Robots), Elgato (Hessle Audio), Selector dub U (Hotflush), Skipple (Sub FM), West Norwood Cassette Library (Teal), King Thing (Fortified)

Rob Sparx – Walk On – Rob Sparx’s original mix kicks off with a funky 2-Step riddim, layered with soulful guitar licks, penetrating synths and some extra deep bass to get you moving. The tune progresses into a super-funky, filtered disco beat leading into a high-energy buildup that will have any crowd going nuts. The drop combines beautiful haunting vocals, brain-rattling bass and sexy synth stabs in a ‘purple’ fashion that has already made an impact on dancefloors worldwide. Not to be taken lightly, this one’s a heavy-hitter and still maintains its class!AA. Rob Sparx – Walk On (PropaTingz Remix) – Doing what he does best, badman PropaTingz comes extra hard with this slamming remix, completely flipping the original tune into a crushing dancefloor anthem. The remix starts with an eerie atmospheric intro of arpeggiating strings, lush pads and a glitched-out take on the original vocal, wasting no time in taking you to the build-up. The drop is absolutely insane, hitting you in the face with a switch-up of extra fat half-time and double-time drums and a west coast G-funk lead all sitting under PropaTingz’s disgusting signature basslines. A prime-time dancefloor smasher – handle with caution!

SLUDGE015 – Trick Or Treat – Bad Bwoy Tune – 12″ Vinyl
So, your bowels have just about started functioning properly and the world has finally stopped vibrating after the last bass onslaught from the Sludge camp. It’s going to require gonads of steel to whack up the volume on this latest beast, but we know you never lost your hardcore. Nevertheless, as we’re a caring bunch at Sludge HQ, we feel obliged to warn in advance that this latest slab of dubstep pressure from Trick or Treat is the sort of big tuna that might leave some needing a job lot of nappies and a year off work to recover.Bad Bwoy Toon does exactly what it says on the tin. Kicking off with old skool style rave stabs and some familiar sampling action, you might be forgiven for thinking that you’ve take the rave DeLorean for a spin and wound up back in ’89. That is, until the drop when the searing bassline kicks in and catapults you back to the future with a sub that has the potential to cause chest implosions from a mile away. Trust us when we tell you that this firing track is going to be turning dance floors into casualty wards across the land throughout the summer. Heavy!Over on the flip of this monster package is Hype Funk. The instantly recognisable intro will prick up your ears and pull you in before skippy beats, chopped up samples and earth shattering bass finish you off. It’s the kind of banger that might have even the residents of the local cemetery raving in their coffins. An essential floorfiller this, and a tune that will almost certainly get you laid each and every time you decide to unleash it on the masses.

Remixed from ‘Always’, the Donna Dee & Keatz vocal track. Deekline & Ed Solo add the wobble bass and searing synths into the mix for a rapturous end-‐of-‐ night floor filler. Badmen Eddie K & Minus remix Dustin things into full-on D&B euphoria, before hitting us with the bass for maximum impact in the club.

UM001 Natural Progression / In The Raw (D Bridge Remix) – Break / Mako and Andy Skopes Utopia Music 12″ Vinyl
Utopia Music is a new Bristol based drum & bass label founded by Mako, a DJ/producer with longstanding residencies at Dissident in Bristol, Spectrum in London and promoter of the infamous Utopia parties that have played host to guests including Randall, Fierce, Break, dBridge, Sabre, Lynx, Storm, Squire and more since starting in 2006. Opening the label’s musical account, Bristol resident and long-time Utopia supporter Break (Symmetry) steps up to deliver Natural Progression. On the reverse, dBridge (Exit Records) remixes a track created by label boss Mako and Andy Skopes (Good Looking) back in 2006 that remains unreleased despite a large amount of DJ support and an appearance on Fierce & Break’s cover-mount mix CD for ATM Magazine. DJ support: LTJ Bukem, Doc Scott, Fierce, Makoto, Bailey, Loxy, Total Science, SpectraSoul, DJ Lee, Flight, Instra:mental, Survival, Invaderz, Squire, Insiders and many more.

SCULT003 Swoop / Funk Me Hard – Sleeper Cell & Maztek Subculture 12″ Vinyl
Usually when we think of Italy we think of designer labels, opera, fast cars, fine art and fine foods. Italian based Subculture Records however are looking to add firin’ drum & bass to that list as they present their third release from label owner Maztek and UK producers Sleeper Cell. Batton down the hatches, things are about to get rowdy! Sci-fi sounds capes are rife as Sleeper Cell and Maztek team up for ‘Swoop’ to open up Scult003 with its rich textured break, eerie pads and industrial fx. After a tense dropout it’s time to move out as the super-sick bass rocks into the mix along with the rugged beats to provide a great example of the neurofunk sound. Fans of Noisia, Break and the like will lap this one up. Then Maztek goes it alone for ‘Funk Me Hard’, another excursion into the dark twisted world of techy d&b but with as the name suggests, a little more funk. Absolute carnage is what this one causes on the drop of filthy bass, warped vox and yet more production wizardry. Crank it up! DJ support so far from Ed Rush, State Of Mind, Chris Renegade, Optiv, Masheen, Axiom and more.

Fall Out’s debut release comes courtesy of Berlin based producer N.Phect. Phantom kicks off with rolling beats that are constantly developed throughout the track and added to with N.Phect’s unmistakeable brand of dirty funk. Razzle Dazzle is less of an easy going affair as enormous amounts of bass right from the off build towards a disgusting, pounding drop that devastates dancefloors. Both tracks have been causing carnage across the world thanks to DJ support from Ed Rush, Black Sun Empire, Teebee, Cause 4 Concern, State of Mind, Phace, Prolix, Bulletproof, Misanthrop and Cern to name but a few.

U Dub is a more traditional dubbed steppers rhythm building to a break beat / junglist crescendo. This first 12″ is fully dubstep compatible and has been recently revived by top selectors such as as Pinch, Shortstuff and Ben UFO. You haven’t worked in weeks. You’re unshaven and unkempt, your fridge is as bare as the dying light of a Sunday afternoon spent alone is bleak. Your rent is in arrears, and you dread the thought of more bills arriving through the door tomorrow. You spend more money on whiskey and weed than you spend on food, and have recently taken to shoplifting cheese from the supermarket. Barefoot, in your underwear still, you walk over to your record player, still faithfully spinning around and around and around since God knows what time this morning when the last people left… You reach for the record you walked into town to buy, pull it from it’s sleeve, still fresh despite a gathering storm of your greasy fingerprints clouding it like uncertainty clouds your future. For five and a half minutes you stand listening, eyes closed, and your troubles fall away. You flip the record over and, for a further five and a half minutes of pure joy, you hear that which few others ever will. THE FUTURE IS NAKED
ISP001 Running Away / Running Away (Guido Remix) – Wedge & Shadz If Symptoms Persist 12″ Vinyl
Amazing packaging and music from Bristol based DJ & producer Wedge. Coming with a fresh take on the dubstep sound with the debut release on his new label If Symptoms Persist… Having hosted his successful radio show on Sub M for four years, this first release represents the fruitful hookup that have come from the how. With the best of musical and vocal talent passing through, the show has become a watchword for keeping up on the developments in the Bristol sound. Shadz is one of the many talented vocalists to have guested on the show, and before long Wedge invited him into the studio to collaborate. The result is a perfect combination of bass weight beats and soulful songwriting. Shadz uses his experience singing with many different projects (Joker – Keep your eye on the ball, Gemmy ‘The Croft” Seezy -Whatever the weather, TC – Untitled, Distorted Minds – Otherside) to great effect and comes up with an infectious lyric with a yearning, searching theme that suits Wedges deep bass pressure perfectly. ‘Running Away’ join the long line of great vocal tun to come out of Bristol, from Smith & Mighty, Tricky, & Portishead to Reprazent & Ben Westbeech. Running Away – Guido Remix On the flip, rising talent Guido (one of the Purple Three along with Joker and Gemmy) turns in a remix that sums up the excitement surrounding these producers. R&B, grime, & dubstep are thrown into the mix. a rinsing b line mixes with Guido’s trademark or he orchestration & musicality. Two prime examples of why people are looking to Bristol for fresh take of the Dubstep / GrimeGoodnessKnowsWhat sound With DJ’s as diverse as Mary Anne Hobbs (Radio 1), Mr Jm (1Xtra), The Foreign Beggars (Dented Record ), Footloose (1Xtra), Starkey (Planet Mu), and N-Type (Rinse FM) supporting this release, things are looking great for this new label.

This is the second 12” from recent HENCH signing, Chasing Shadows. The duo drop some serious pressure with these dark and dirty tunes straight from the heart of cutting-edge dubstep production. They’ve already received attention from the likes of: Mary Anne Hobbs, Pendulum, Plastician, N-Type, and Benga, so give them a listen and see what all the hype’s about!
A.ILL – ‘Ill’ builds from an eerie intro, with sultry guitar chords and stabbing beat, slowly winding up to an immense drop. With twisted beats, a punishing b-line, and sweeping atmospherics, this is iller than ‘Ill’ – the bass is so low it will probably make you sick! Grimy and growling, this is a tune that’s going to tear your immune system to shreds.
So if you are into the grimy synth heavy side of things then better check this one out. Taz is on the case with the A side, Half Man Half Trout has been tearing up various floors for a while now. Meaty synths, a sexy melody, smooth delicate bassstings and a sharp drumbeat to nod your head to. A sure shot production that’ll leave and left tons of people wonder what that just was. It seems there aint no stopping the Taz because again he pulls it off on the flip with his other dancefloor smasher called 20 Red. 8 Bit bleeps and again a brutal squeezy synthline that’ll make your mouth water. Its like Snoop Dogg is floating on this orange cloud on his way to Jamaica to fill up his stash. A tune that finishes of this 12 inch in style and cements Taz as one to watch in the future! The classic TRG release. repressed and Re-released. Fresh from releasing killer plates on Hessle Audio, Subway and Audio Freakz, Romania’s TRG touches down on Immerse to deliver this highly-accomplished 12”. First up is Time is Now, kicking off with samples of dystopian android speech mixed up with a simple flute lick that gives no warning of the impending carnage! Snipped up breaks collide with whiplash-inducing bass action and shuddering subs to make a guaranteed mess of any dancefloor. Flipside, TRG gets more reflective with They Know, as wistful chords drift across the intro like echoes of some long-forgotten rave, before dropping into a post-UKG boom-bass workout. Subs bulge beneath the broken 2-step riddim and occasional warping midline, building nicely towards the killer switchups on the second drop.

Finish copies. Operating out of the same stable as Tectonic, Kapsize, Earwax and Caravan, Multiverse brings you a new label, Build, hitting the exciting space where Future Garage, Dubstep, UK Funky and all things Bass intersect. Headed up by renowned bassmusic ambassador Baobinga, known for his massive releases on Soul Jazz (with Tayo & Spyda) and Trouble & Bass (with Detroit’s DJ Nasty), as well as his wide-ranging DJ sets across the globe (including an appearance at Fabric’s 10th Birthday this October), the first release on Build sees Baobinga joined by regular partner in crime I.D. (Boka, Mata-Syn, Cool & Deadly). Tongue Riddim takes elements of Kuduru, percussive Dubstep and junglistic sub-bass pressure and combines them into a tightly-wound slice of dancefloor propulsion. On the flip, Roska – one of the main players in the UK Funky scene and a core DJ on Rinse FM – takes the tempo down but retains the sense of rhythmic intensity, rolling trademark tough Roska drums over a warm, yet menacing, bassline. Hypnotic without ever losing impact, the remix has already become a staple in his Rinse show. Early DJ support comes from Sinden, Martyn, Starkey, Buraka Som Sistema, Scratcha DVA, TRG, Shortstuff & Brackles and more.

Limited Edition Purple Vinyl. Scratcha DVA is not just the charismatic host of Rinse Fm’s breakfast show, he’s one of the UK’s most accomplished producers. An associate of Terror Danjah from the late 90′s, DVA supplied dubs to Dj Slimzee during grimes early days and has produced for luminaries of the scene like Wiley, Trim, Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder and more. More recently Scratcha has collaborated with beacons of the UK Funky scene like Roska, Cooly G, D-Malice and more while still releasing grime anthems like ‘Nasty Nasty Nasty’ and ‘Bullet Ago Fly’. The Jelly Roll Ep has already gained support from Marcus Nasty, Geeneus, Joker, Kode 9, Cooly G, Sinden and more. Built around a super-synthetic bassline its title track sqirms and shakes around stinging snares whilst ‘Guro Triba’ is a little on the more conventional side of House & Funky. Remixes comes from True Tigers Sukh Knight, who gives Nasty Nasty Nasty the creeping dubstep treatment, whilst Funky don Roska gives it his unique “Kicks and Snares” midas touch.
