The duo has been working on music for some time now, but it wasn’t until recently it caught my attention. Mr Joseph is running his night “Fizzy” in London, and had some recent releases out making his name recognised in the drum & bass scene.A. Call To Arms Call to arms is a heavy breaks based track, with nice ethereal strings. The track starts with a nice string intro and female vocal samples, and then explodes in a shuffled breakbeat, reese-bass inferno.AA. Trash Talk This track is a bit different for secret operations, but it has a feel that i think is suitable for the label. The track starts with a static beat and a nice chord, then it switches to growling bassline and subtle but effective percussion.

Tes La Rok’s highly anticipated debut album entitled ‘Them’ will finally see the light of day. Tes La Rok made his name in dubstep circles in 2007 with the massive “Round The World Girls Remix” which immediately positioned him as one of the most exciting artists and definitely one to watch. Anthem releases such as ‘Under The Dancing Feet’ remix for Clouds, ‘Wikidness Remix’ for Mungo’s Hi-Fi, and ‘Up In The Vip / Living Fire’ on Dub Police were soon followed by bookings at DMZ in Brixton and dubstep mecca FWD>> at Plastic People. ‘Them’ features thirteen tracks engineered with precision and care. ‘Invasion’ sets the album off in a deep and minimal flavour followed by the dark and abyssal ‘Earth’. The album title track ‘Them’ mixes techno flavours with tribal percussions and futuristic basslines. ‘Murda’ takes the sound back to the year 2006 which is the year when it was originally composed and luckily recovered from a destroyed hard drive! ‘Virus’ is a dark mutated sci-fi roller followed by ‘You & I’, the track that has been causing waves all over the world. Tes gives a taste of his old junglist roots on 140bpm amen roller ‘Secrets’ and as a follow-up tests his hands on hip hop vibes in ‘Malfunction’. ‘Tribal Ting’ and ‘Spiritual Ting’ showcase the more known Tes La Rok dubwise production and his profound love to dig dub stepper sounds. ‘What’ and ‘From The Shadows’ combine deep & beautiful atmospheres with post-garage drums patterns and subheavy basslines. To bring the album to a finale and give a hint of the future, ‘Turn It Up’ brings in chopped vocals and raw 808 bass. Coming from the land of three months of nearly zero sunlight it is by no means a surprise that this album is deep, dark and futuristic. From the music to the artwork there’s a touch of Bladerunner and Alien. These tracks are being championed by the main players such as Distance, N-Type, Kryptic, Minds, Desto, Pinch, Addison Groove and Cyrus.

Doms latest album is one of his finest works to date.I n 2005 Dom started his own label Dom & Roland Productions releasing the creme de la creme of Drum and Bass collaborations, as well as being an outlet for his own work. An accomplished sound engineer, Dom is well known to have co-produced and mixed some of the classics of the drum and bass scene, including Subway with Ed Rush, Sonar with DJ Trace, appearing as guest producer alongside Optical on Grooveriders seminal Prototype Years album, as well as having enjoyed enormous success with many of his own tracks including the mighty Thunder, Imagination and Can’t Punish Me.

Dub Police drop an absolute peach of a single here from Birmingham’s ever rising star Emalkay. This side see’s the massive ‘When I Look At You’ get a release, and with support from Caspa, Benga, Skream, N-Type & just about anyone who is anyone battering the living daylights out of this tune its not hard to see why this has now got to the anthem status it so thoroughly deserves. A real epic intro with luscious pads and pitched vocals, before an absolutely ferocious drop of squelching bass and stomping beats. So big, its criminal! The flip couldn’t be any more different, but don’t let that put you off. ‘Angie Got Stoned’ is sheer genius with its quirky piano lead, skippy beats, sweet vocals and warm bass. The classic TRG release. repressed and Re-released. Fresh from releasing killer plates on Hessle Audio, Subway and Audio Freakz, Romania’s TRG touches down on Immerse to deliver this highly-accomplished 12”. First up is Time is Now, kicking off with samples of dystopian android speech mixed up with a simple flute lick that gives no warning of the impending carnage! Snipped up breaks collide with whiplash-inducing bass action and shuddering subs to make a guaranteed mess of any dancefloor. Flipside, TRG gets more reflective with They Know, as wistful chords drift across the intro like echoes of some long-forgotten rave, before dropping into a post-UKG boom-bass workout. Subs bulge beneath the broken 2-step riddim and occasional warping midline, building nicely towards the killer switchups on the second drop.

Operating out of the same stable as Tectonic, Kapsize, Earwax and Caravan, Multiverse brings you a new label, Build, hitting the exciting space where Future Garage, Dubstep, UK Funky and all things Bass intersect. Headed up by renowned bassmusic ambassador Baobinga, known for his massive releases on Soul Jazz (with Tayo & Spyda) and Trouble & Bass (with Detroit’s DJ Nasty), as well as his wide-ranging DJ sets across the globe (including an appearance at Fabric’s 10th Birthday this October), the first release on Build sees Baobinga joined by regular partner in crime I.D. (Boka, Mata-Syn, Cool & Deadly). Tongue Riddim takes elements of Kuduru, percussive Dubstep and junglistic sub-bass pressure and combines them into a tightly-wound slice of dancefloor propulsion.On the flip, Roska – one of the main players in the UK Funky scene and a core DJ on Rinse FM – takes the tempo down but retains the sense of rhythmic intensity, rolling trademark tough Roska drums over a warm, yet menacing, bassline. Hypnotic without ever losing impact, the remix has already become a staple in his Rinse show. Limited Edition Purple Vinyl. Scratcha DVA is not just the charismatic host of Rinse Fm’s breakfast show, he’s one of the UK’s most accomplished producers. An associate of Terror Danjah from the late 90′s, DVA supplied dubs to Dj Slimzee during grimes early days and has produced for luminaries of the scene like Wiley, Trim, Chipmunk, Tinchy Stryder and more. More recently Scratcha has collaborated with beacons of the UK Funky scene like Roska, Cooly G, D-Malice and more while still releasing grime anthems like ‘Nasty Nasty Nasty’ and ‘Bullet Ago Fly’. The Jelly Roll Ep has already gained support from Marcus Nasty, Geeneus, Joker, Kode 9, Cooly G, Sinden and more. Built around a super-synthetic bassline its title track sqirms and shakes around stinging snares whilst ‘Guro Triba’ is a little on the more conventional side of House & Funky. Remixes comes from True Tigers Sukh Knight, who gives Nasty Nasty Nasty the creeping dubstep treatment, whilst Funky don Roska gives it his unique “Kicks and Snares” midas touch.

Opening the label’s musical account, Bristol resident and long-time Utopia supporter Break (Symmetry) steps up to deliver Natural Progression. On the reverse, dBridge (Exit Records) remixes a track created by label boss Mako and Andy Skopes (Good Looking) back in 2006 that remains unreleased despite a large amount of DJ support and an appearance on Fierce & Break’s cover-mount mix CD for ATM Magazine.
