Following in the footsteps of Silkie’s critically-acclaimed debut album ‘City Limits Vol.1’, DEEP MEDi Musik are delighted to announce the release of ‘DEEP MEDi Releases Vol.1’ – a compilation showcasing the first five 12” releases from Mala’s DEEP MEDi imprint.

Kicking off a brand new series, ‘DEEP MEDi Releases Vol.1’ features certified classic material from 2006-07 from the likes of Kromestar (Anti Social Entertainment), Hijak (Skream’s gifted older sibling), Digital Mystikz cohorts Mala and Coki, Loefah (DMZ) and Goth-Trad.

Blending refined sub low gymnastics and advanced electronic engineering with an everpresent nod to the roots of sound system culture, ‘DEEP MEDi Releases Vol.1’ represents a superb snapshot of DEEP MEDi’s early beginnings and a crucial period in dubstep’s evolution. From Mala’s textured organics and trademark marching percussion to Hijak’s roots-inspired jaunts and Loefah’s no-nonsense bass attack, the quality control never dips below “immaculate”, just as you would expect from a label A&R’ed by dubstep revolutionary Mala.

DEEP MEDi Musik since their inception have been at the forefront of the dubstep scene, run by Mala (Digital Mystikz) the output has been varied and solid. The recent debut album from Silkie “City Limits Volume 1″ on DEEP MEDi was a huge success (Vinyl repress available 09.11.09).
DEEP MEDi is proud to announce two new signings to the label – Harry Craze and V.I.V.E.K.

First up is Harry Craze part of the Anti Social Entertainment alongside Silkie, Quest, Mizz Beats, Jay Five and others. Fresh from his ‘French Knickers’ 12″ collaboration with Silkie on the Break the Habit label, Harry delivers two of his own productions ‘Wa6′ and ‘Thirty Six Hours’ to devastating effect, showcasing his unique production skills and bringing fresh forward thinking sounds to the label.

“Some tunes really hit you in the soul receptors, and ‘Wa6′ by West Londoner and anti-socialite Harry Craze blows dust off the 45, and moistens the eyeballs. If J Dilla made dubstep, you’d get the same feeling; sweet strings bounce off mood-drenched synths and circulate the warmth. And whilst this won’t set the dancefloors alight, it will start a fire in the soul. The flip is great too, but you’d be forgiven for never listening to it“.

Next up the man named V.I.V.E.K., he was brought to DEEP MEDi’s attention by good friend and fellow Anti Social Entertainment member, Silkie. V.I.V.E.K.’s debut on the label executes two shocking outputs ‘Kulture’ and ‘Meditation Rock’ with which we think you’ll agree will set V.I.V.E.K’s name comfortably alongside the heavy hitting DEEP MEDi roster.
