NONPLUSCD001 Nothing Is Certain – ASC Nonplus Records CD
Since his first appearance on Nonplus, ASC has been hard at work on his LP and its finally here. Starting with a 12” sampler he dives right in at the deep end with ‘Phobos’ in which electronic grooves and micro samples entwine against a backdrop of dramatic tones and industrial hits. Followed on the same side by the atmospheric hiatus ‘Oort Cloud’ you have a good inclination of the impending album by now, but are also treated to the AA-side ‘Matter Of Time’. Like a continuation of his debut Nonplus 12” track ‘Porcelain’, his crafty use of oriental sounding percussion, windlike sounds and melodies combined with an efficacious bass line make this track very hard to listen to in its entirety before you reach for the reset. The album touches on many genres from start to finish such as the 4×4 offering of ‘Textura’, or the almost indescribable step of ‘Yatta’, but one common theme that this album holds throughout is the amalgamation of influences derived from all genres of music and ASC’s ability to combine these to create something new and unique.

Samurai Music welcomes one of its’ favourite new artists to the family. Amsterdam local Nymfo has been slaying dancefloors worldwide with his nu funk on labels like 31 Records, Ram, CIA, Renegade Hardware, Shogun, Inneractive & Critical. The brief was easy for a Samurai Music release, unleash the funk ‘Greetings Starfighter’ is easily one of Nymfo’s most played and requested tunes. CRSE060 Dystopia / House Groove – Sato Creative Source 12″ Vinyl
Anthem!!, Fabio yet again digs deep to support some of D&B’s freshest sounds. Dystopia / House Groove have both won support the likes of Hype, Crissy Criss & Grooverider. Sato is an up and coming Producer from the North East who is making waves with some of the games main players. Amongst others, Sato has gained praise and support from Goldie, Marcus Intalex & Fabio. In 2009 one of the most respected producers in the scene stepped up on remix duties and Sato’s ascent into the limelight shifted up a gear. Keepin’ it nice and nasty Backlash hits you with their fourth outing for this Summer 2010. Kickin’ things into high gear is the grimy rumble of Outrage’s “Make Or Break”, which builds on a simply effective melody that gets your head noddin’ and your waist windin’. Interesting tune to drop in your mix, with enough space to cause mass hysteria. Following that is another stellar collaborative banger from Digital and Outrage in the form of “Stampede”. It builds like an oncoming rush of wild animals…the intro plays the calm before you start seeing a cloud of dust kicked up, heightening anticipation and fear, which climaxes in the rush of that sweeping bassline. When this one drops, you get two choices: move or move out of the way! Big boy riddims on both sides of this plate, which is par for the course when it comes to Backlash.

One of most innovative producers in the Drum & Bass and electronic music scene, Sam KDC display a depth and psychedelic mood.stunningly beautiful music as opposed to simply ‘drum & bass’. Sam explains ‘The 12″ is a really special one to me, both the tunes reflect some really deep rooted memories and feelings of mine. I used to feel like that as a kid listening to Pink Floyd, especially at the beginning of “Comfortably Numb”, something else that was very influential to this piece. The other side, “Perish” is a really personal to me. I finished it and loved it but didn’t want to send it to anyone. It was my housemate at the time, Frank, that convinced me to show it to others, not through what he said, but the fact he asked me for a copy of it and I used to come home and I’d hear it blasting out of his room and he doesn’t even like DnB, so that was a sign to me for that one… The first vocal right at the beginning says “I feel safe with you” and that was something that was missing in my life at the time, and in truth, still is… I called it “Perish” because I sampled a home video from a couple of years ago that I wanted gone, I got rid of the video once I’d taken the audio from it and so it was like that moment in my life was trapped in that piece of music, with all other remaining context of it lost… Perished… taken from http://www.dubplatedigest.net/2010/05/dsm-presents-triad-and-sam-kdc.html

Anyone that’s been paying attention to the more chilled out spectrum of drum & bass might find Influenza label owner, Eros causing quite a stir as of late. 2009 saw releases on Golden Orb, InnerGround, Fokuz, Good Looking and of course, Influenza Media; and collaborations with Paul SG, Atmospherix, Mutt, The Square and Soulgrifter. But Eros’ latest project, and perhaps most impressive, is his collaboration with Dirrrty B as Blue Motion. Since November 2009, these two have pressed their driven, upbeat sound into a plethora of labels including Phunkfiction, Good Looking, Fokuz, Ingredients,Future Thinkin, Temper D Productions, Vibez, Peer Pressure, Amen Brother,Point 9 Audio, Funk Star and many more. As we come into this fantastic release, we are met by the mystifying but beautiful intro of Only Words VIP. As if climbing a mountain, the layers just continue to build – synths, bass, rolling drums, and, of course, what melodic track wouldn’t be complete without a few angelic wind instruments? As the break rolls through, the melody rebuilds creating a state of ecstasy once again. All The Time chills it out a bit, bringing forth the soul element with Grimm on vocals. A beautifully constructed string bassline leads the way to the drop, as atmospheric trumpet riffs ring in the background. Get touched on this one!

The intro creeps in. Winding around like a whirlpool till it drops into haltime rickus of eachoes and bass squelches. Grinding metal riffs all the way thru this piece. Defintley one for the die hard Krusha fans.

EXIT018 Inner Disbelief – dBridge Exit Records 12″ Vinyl
Exit Records bring their busy 2009 release schedule to a close with this outstanding 12” from label owner dBridge, featuring two tracks that have been consistently played over the last few months by djs such as Goldie, Friction, Alix Perez, SpectraSoul, Fabio, Doc Scott and Marcus Intalex amongst others. A 12” getting massive DJ support from across the scene. ‘Inner Disbelief’ is reminiscent of some of dBridge’s Gemini Principle LP tracks with a more dance floor friendly edge, but as usual without compromising quality control. It’s yet another example of dBridge using his vocal talent to compliment his productions and create his signature flavour of “aggressively beautiful” music. A re-arranged piano hook sample layered upon a moody bass line and driving beat provide the backing for this very catchy and listenable song. On the flip we have another track from dBridge entitled ‘5th Floor’. What appears at first to be quite a sparse track slowly builds into an all out roller with its musical elements becoming more and more frequent and drums gradually layering up to create pace and energy. This track screams out classic dBridge in every sense with its clever use of musical stabs, eerie atmospheres and growling sub bass.

The first Mindscape release came out on DJ Trace’s London-based label, DSCI4. Since then Mindscape have had several tracks released on Subtitles, Hospital, Inneractive, Red Light, Citrus, Celsius, Syndrome and Fokuz Recordings. Reefer has had Dj support from Phil Source, Ed Rush, Cause 4 Concern, Break, Trace, Optiv and Squire among others. Soul Intent – Future Funk – Phil Source and Outrage Remix Alex Judd aka Soul Intent has a big reputation building around him. He works out of Nottingham in the U.K. He has already had releases out on Creative Source, Blindside, Samurai, MacII, 31 Records and Horizons. This guy is part of the new breed of Drum and Bass. “Future Funk” featured on VAMPDJUK007 and was a big track on the circuit played by Fabio and Grooverider (Radio 1). Grooverider has tipped Soul Intent to be one to watch for the future! Watch out for more Soul Intent music on Vampire. Mark System is by no means a newcomer to the music world having been performing as an MC and producing music for labels such as Digital Soundboy and Shogun Audio amongst others for over a decade. His debut on Exit Records consists of two tracks which underline his production skills and originality in sound design and arrangement. On the A-Side we have “Peach Fuzz”. A track created and named by System after attending and gaining inspiration from Carl Cox’s closing party at Space. He claims that Danny Tenaglia’s set stimulated him to think about new ways of approaching tracks. “Peach Fuzz“ was the result and what a result it was. This track oozes originality and is a pearl in the boxes of many top DJs at the moment such as dBridge, Instra:mental, Ed Rush, Commix, Friction etc. On the B-side we have “Voices” from System, which is an elaborate workout of glitchy beats, choppy break edits and curious melodies. This track is far from formulaic, having been started as an experiment to vent creative juices with no intention of it leaving his computer, were glad it did!

Finish copy. Berlin’s premiere Drum and Bass label returns with an original and a remix of label stalwarts Dub Tao. This duo has helped to keep Hard:edged at the forefront of the German Drum and Bass scene. Their latest offering comes in the form of, ‘East Of The Underground’. Backed with a remix from Brazilian bad boy, Bungle; who takes matter into his own hands with a stellar remix, creating a delicious double A-sided package. First up is Mr. Bungle, who rides the sample over shattering breaks, while breathing life into the tune via a tight rhythmically undulating bass line. Clever synth work is also put to use on this nearly essential tool. This is a track that possesses as much musicality as it does excitement. Dub Tao start the original off with a classic two step break, letting the samples and atmospheres create a tension before a thunderous bass drop. Dub Tao, certainly don’t need any help getting their sound tight, but who would turn down a little mixing magic from Formation’s soul-man Influx Uk. He deftly applies his ability to work within the realms of melodic Drum and Bass, while still adding some grit and edge. A skill the DT boys are quickly learning themselves. This EP most certainly posses a plethora of versatility which will aid it in finding a place in the DJ sets of many and blaring out of the speakers on a dance floor near you.

SENSELESS011 You Know – Ghosttown ft Badness & Dajla Senseless Records 12″ Vinyl

Wonky dancefloor dancehall from Ghosttown featuring Badness, mix from DZ, Like his spectral namesake Simon Booth aka Ghosttown has spent the last few years obscured, half out of sight as a producer hiring out his futuristic beat-science to a string of heavy hitting MCs including Foreign Beggars here in the UK and a clutch of artists across the Atlantic including Guilty Simpson, Oh No, Frank and Dank and Dudley Perkins from the Dilla/Stones Throw axis of the hip hop spectrum.
His debut release started life like most of his productions, on a beat tape with another 80 or so one minute tracks, all vital snapshots charged with the excitement of what might happen with the right MC but there was something special about the original ‘Greezy’. It wires up squelching formant synths to insistent, minimal drums sounding like a 2010 UK-bass update to Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’ but at 145 BPM with speaker damaging sub.
This devastating but unusual collision of sounds needed a versatile MC and Badness was top of the list. Known for his early work with Lava Unit and Terror Danjah as well as last year’s carnival smash ‘Message is Love’ with Jammer and Silverlink Birmingham born Badness’ star is on the rise. ‘You Know’ as the track became features his signature double time bashment/grime flow and a killer hook sung by cosmic-soul powerhouse Dajla. The Parisian born singer is a Radio Nova favourite who has collaborated with Wax Tailor, Foreign Beggars and celebrated hip hop poet Anthony Joseph. The resulting track is unmistakably UK but with a bashment flavour, wonky dancehall? The vinyl remix comes from DZ (Hot Flush/Tru Tiger) who delivers a mix that turbo charges the dancefloor elements of the track to come up with multi coloured low end work out. Senseless will release a Ghosttown album in summer 2010 featuring vocalists including Frank & Dank, Olivier Daysoul, Badness, YT, Navigator, Killa P and more. 2010 is the year the Ghost comes to life.

Radial Productions is a new label operating out of London, UK, inspired by deep, hypnotic, space-oriented sounds from the world of dubstep and beyond. Radial 001 sees label co-owner Logos kick proceedings off with his track ‘Medicate’. Medicate was inspired by and built in remembrance of the legendary DMZ nights at 3rd Base and the lights out, eyes down vibe which seemed to transport the dedicated crowd three thousand leagues deep. Many of us still look to that time for inspiration and this track stands in tribute. The flip sees Hyperdub recording artists LV step up and spin the original on its axis. It’s that time of the year when music related blog’s get their chart heads on and review 2009 with their top albums and singles, we tried something a little similar when S.T. Holdings staff members recently picked their ‘Top 3 Tracks of the Year’: http://www.stholdings.co.uk/2009/12/02/s-t-holdings-staff-charts-2009/

On perusing around the internet at the various charts we have found a mountain of accolades for some of the labels we have been representing, here’s a short run down of some of the finest records this year according to the masses and the music moguls:

It’s been a meteoric rise to fame for Joy Orbison, a release picked up by Hotflush Recordings (ran by Scuba) and released on his more techno orientated sub-label (HFT), first raved about by Martin Blackdown for his Pitchfork Blog and since then has completely blown up with Joy being tipped for the top in 2010 by the BBC Music Longlist: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8388584.stm

Martyn’s debut LP was a big success and the internet was flooded with information and hype about the album, his crossover from Drum & Bass to the more techno/house influenced Dubstep sound was great timing and he soon became the figure at the forefront of that particular sound.

One Foot Ahead Of The Other

Ramp Recordings have had a host of big releases this year, notably the Zomby Mini-LP which featured artwork by  Kate Moross taking the 8-bit Nintendo sounds to the extreme and cementing himself as one of the artists at the forefront of electronic music. Songs supported by the likes of Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Kissy Sell Out on Radio 1.

Peverelist’s debut album finally landed on his own Punch Drunk imprint recently, a producer with relatively few releases to his name but always quality over quantity, a well renowned producer who has worked with Shackleton, Appleblim and has performed remixes for the likes of Pole, along with Martyn he is one of the forerunners of the Techno influenced Dubstep sound.

Kapsize, the Bristol based label co-run by Joker and Pinch’s Multiverse has been showcasing some huge Joker productions this year, notably ‘Purple City’ by Joker & Ginz. Joker has gone from strength to strength this year and is set to blow big time next year, having headlined the Sonar dubstep stage and undertaken some high profile remix work.

Samurai Music returns with yet another heavyweight kiwi talent Cern, for his debut release on the label. Cern has spent the last few years blazing a trail of intricate tech flavoured funk on labels like Critical, Renegade Hardware, Symptom, Shady Brain, Fokuz and is currently working on a future project for Concord Dawns’ Uprising label. ‘Timeslip’ treats the tech step template like a jagged worn jigsaw, taking it’s pieces, sharpening them into potent weaponry and forcing them into new sequences. Shuddering sliding rhythms pound their ingenious funk with the soaring Reese in the second breakdown never failing to draw cheers of delight from appreciative dancefloors. ‘Eastern Gates’ is a subtle rolling slice of funk, laden with a gorgeous eastern female vocal that saunters over what has become a trademark tech groove from Mr Cern. ESOTERIC012 Esoterica – Nucleus & Paradox Esoteric Music 12″ Vinyl
Nucleus & Paradox are on a mission to relay the 90’s grit of UK Jungle back into today’s ever-digital sound with every Esoteric release and just when you thought ‘L.S.D Jazz’ (ESO 11) had set the jungle benchmark the duo unleash ‘Esoterica’ with outstanding effect. INNA029 Splinter – Spirit Inneractive Music 12″ Vinyl
The first in a short series of releases featuring label head and founder Spirit pairing up with a new signing sees Jubei, Sato & Treez joining the fold with ʻTridentʼ, a mean and moody, dubbed-out roller speckled with echoing vocal licks, growling stabs and deep, pulsating subs. Championed by the likes of Marcus Intalex, Raiden, Survival, Phobia and a host of others, these guys are one to watch having between them scheduled releases for the likes of Metalheadz, Creative Source, Coded Music, Ingredients and CIA Deepkut. It looks like some futuristic vehicles or weaponry was created in this facility years prior. Your flashlight is still emitting light, and just when you realize that you’ve hit a deadend, you also come to the realization that the deadend is infact a huge mechwarrior, focusing in right on you. That red laser beam coming from its head isn’t welcoming, is it? Back on the chase. Misanthrop Industries has created some frightening beasts in its time, but this one is downright spooky! BRD004 Diamonds Shine – Utopia Breed 12 Inches 12″ Vinyl
Approaching the 4th release, and with it’s catalogue of unique artists, the snowball effect is in full motion for Breed12inches. After recruiting Russian duo Utopia back onto their successive 12” with another big release, the Breed12inches camp have now seen all eyes drawn to them, following huge play and support by some of the scene’s major players. Breaking away from the moniker of ‘Lifted Music’s sister label’, it was only a matter of time before audiences and DJ’s perceived Breed to be a rising label in its own right, one they also hope will be around for a long time. SCAN ME – That trademark Utopia style is in full motion with ‘Scan Me’. SUB005 Dub Sessions I – Shed SubSolo 12″ Vinyl
Displaying his excellent production skills within techno, Shed moves over to straight up dub sessions with the ‘Dub Shed Sessions I’ on SubSolo. Fierce bass meditative drops circles around the excellent atmospheric keyboard patterns, combined in a way that sounds both fresh and unique, but still rating 100% on Shed’s own trademark sound. Leaning towards a bit of contemporary straight dub techno with ‘Dub Shed – STP Remix’, the focus is on a more direct and present take on the tracks progression, rather than inviting the listener into an already set-up wall of sound. Shaking off the melody from the centre, the spacious patterns reveal themselves as the extreme basslines comes in, removing all doubt about the direction of the track. ASC003 Step Aside – DJ Silkie Cloqworq Recordings 12″ Vinyl
Very Limited White Label Promo. Dj Silkie provides his debut single on Cloqworq Recordings, which consists of two tracks written especially for this in house label. This is the first release since this producer has proved his talent time and time again with a string of releases over the past two years on the infamous deep medi recordings and not to mention the groundbreaking album ‘City Limits Vol. 1’. Dj Silkie And Anti Social Ent. as a collective are definitely ones to watch in 2009/2010 ‘step aside’ is a clever combination of hard hitting bass and breaks with the synthy, melodic and soulful elements as expected from this producer – dark and moody with a jazzy twist. this track drops into what can only be described as low end sub bass over a tribal beat pattern which is enough to shake up any dancefloor – a real stomper ‘illegal immigrant’ comes with similar vibes on the b side, starting off with emotive, dubesque pads and dropping with low down sub stabs over another unconventional but highly effective beat. this represents the other side to the anti social sound which can only be described of as the liquid/deeper dubstep sound. both tracks have had support on the highly acclaimed rinse fm on a weekly basis (www.rinse.fm) and are receiving heavy rotation from djs such as Skream, Mala And N-type in the clubs and not to mention major dubstep icons such as Hatcha from kiss 100 and Maryanne Hobbs from radio 1, this highlights the versatility of these tracks and the potential to cross into dj sets from different genres – a real must for all serious dubsteppers worldwide.

2NDRP008 Don’t Judge – LV 2nd Drop Records 12″ Vinyl
Hand printed 500 limited edition sleeve edition. Following in Ramadanman’s supreme tribal tracks, comes South London production outfit LV. Fresh from two releases on Hyperdub and remixes for Hemlock, the quartet deliver the rootical Don’t Judge featuring vocals from seasoned UK rootsman Errol Bellot, who has worked with King Tubby among others. On the flip side, Wolverhampton’s Fantastic Mr Fox takes the big tools to the original and refashions an epic remix with a wicked 2 step swing. Nuff said, enjoy! As big fans of illustration and graphics, over the last seven releases the label has commissioned some truly wonderful art from a slew of talented artists including Remi/Roughe, Uiu and Phil Blake.

Idle Hands’ is a new vinyl based electronic music label operating out of Rooted Records in Bristol, with distribution through ST Holdings. The focus of the label is on raw and experimental dancefloor tracks, in the best traditions of the UK underground. The first release is anonymous. It is comprised of two tracks. WICKEDA001 A Nie Dvamata S Bobi Piem Kafe (Ramadanman Refix) – Wickeda Hessle Audio 12″ Vinyl
Hand stamped ltd edition of 500 180g vinyl. In early 2009, Ramadanman was approached by the British Council to participate in a cultural project between the UK and Bulgaria. The Bulgarian public voted for a top 10 of their favourite 90’s Bulgarian pop songs, which were then offered to three UK producers to remix (the others being Hexstatic and Craggz & Parallel Forces). Ramadanman chose the Wickeda song “А ние с Боби двамата пием кафе” (“And I and Bobby, We are Both Drinking Coffee”), and remixed it. The remix was premiered at a British Council‐organised club night in Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, and beforehand, Ramadanman gave a remix workshop session to local producers. Wickeda are a Bulgarian rock band with a strong following. “А ние с Боби двамата пием кафе” was a hit single from their first album Revolution which was released in 1999 and sold over 30,000 copies. Today, Wickeda continue to tour Bulgaria as well as Europe, with regular festival dates.

Fresh from tours in the USA and Australia, Distance commits two more of his killer dubplates to vinyl, putting an evil smirk on the face of Dubstep DJs and fans everywhere. Now seven releases in, the Chestplate imprint is well and truly established as a buy-on-sight label. This time around sees a new Distance anthem on side A, accompanied by a Pinch reversion of Distance’s modern classic ‘V’ on the flip. Twilight is Distance in primetime dancefloor destruction mode. No messin’! The theremin like spooky ambient melodies oscillate and brood, making way for the trademark Distance crunching riff. It smacks of Distance on top of his game. It slays and it dips, only to come back harder. This one should remind the Dubstep new skool that you don’t have to tear your brain out to make tear out. Pinch twists up and reconfigures the original into a new sonic horror show. This should be the office ambience of torture chambers everywhere. Pinch suppresses the drive and riff of Distance’s version, accentuating the more unnerving elements; yes it’s subtle, but it’s not any less devastating. If the system packs enough punch, this one will literally turn guts. Major support comes from the crop of discerning dubstep DJs, with full blessings coming from the likes of Skream, Mary Anne Hobbs and Hatcha. Alongside contemporaries like Benga, Skream, Pinch and Digital Mystikz, Distance has been responsible for shaping the Dubstep sound as we know it today. PL006 Hypothermic EP – Excision Vs The Subdivision Paradise Lost 12″ Vinyl
Redhot hitman Excision meets Paradise Lost labelheads The SubDivision on this longawaited deep, dark funk release, the Hypothermic EP. Hypothermic brings gangsta vocal licks together with the baddest of basslines and slick percussion which combine to sickening effect to devastate the dancefloor. Battered on dubplate by DJs across the spectrum, from Headhunter to Djunya to SPL and the list goes on. Flipside contains the equally sick, but totally different Hypothermic RMX, from the likes of Bristols finest, Komonazmuk, who together with Player 1 mutates the tune into a feast of warped and spaced out basslines which give a different feeling but the same effect, devastation. This one has been cut on dub by dubstep dons throughout the UK and you will no doubt have heard this one at your favorite venue. Winding up the release is the ultradark Titanium, which features heavy guitar riffs and bleak pads, making you want to punch your mother in the stomach. One for the hardcore and headstrong. Quality here, don’t sleep on this.

If you like the recent output from these guys then you will love this tune. aa) Instra:mental ‘Tramma’ is a 4/4 offering made of elements from Dub, Techno and DnB but is hard to pigeonhole into any particular genre. For descriptive purposes well call it dub techno. Once again we can hear their influences from all things electronic, and here we have an example of the variance that we expect from Nonplus and a glimpse of the vision that Instra:mental have for the future of this label.

After arriving back on the scene in 2006 Instra:mental have fast gained a reputation for re-sharpening the cutting edge approach to making music. a) dBridge ‘Wonder Where’:
‘Wonder Where’ by dBridge is a fine example of how the label means to continue. dBridge is hot off the back of his debut solo album “The Gemini Principle” in which he first gave us glimpses of a talent which he shares with his brother Steve Spacek as a vocalist. Since then he has been busy continuing to lay the foundations of his own respected imprint Exit Records. If his voice sounds familiar, perhaps you have heard the track “These Words” on which he featured on Martyn’s highly regarded debut album “Great Lengths”. Wonder Where is quite unique in the way it is regularly getting played in the sets of DJs from many genres. Drum n bass dj’s such as Marcus Intalex, to soulfull house Dj’s like Benji B, and also Dubstep pioneer DJ Skream has regularly been finishing his sets with it. Dubstep legend Burial has also seen fit to include it in his upcoming DJ Kicks mix. This track is fast becoming an anthem among many different genres and is sure to be featured in many a dj’s sets for many years to come.
aa) Instra:mental ‘No Future’:
Instra:mental have chosen their own track “No Future” which is ironic considering they obviously have a very big future ahead of them. Already licensed to the highly acclaimed Commix Fabriclive.44 this track (and most of their music) manages to resurrect the ghost of early electronic music with the essence of artists such as Model 500 and the legendary Detroit techno movement of the 80s and early 90s. Using original hardware drum machines and synthesizers to create the analogue warmth and groove which was synonymous of those times, they bring elements back to the music which have been somewhat lacking in recent years and laced it with all the benefits of modern music making advancements. This track will be loved and cherished by those who appreciate good music and will play just as well in the comfort of your own home as it would in a packed out dance floor.

Geiom + Spamchop find themselves in a distant mysterious land ravaged by sub zero temperatures. Across the hills they can hear faint echoes of deep bass..Crunching through the snow towards the source they discover a party in a massive cave full of odd rock formations and sparkling crystals. The ravers seem slightly unhinged but happy, dancing to strange future music that reminds our explorers of uk garage without the bling…Spamchop records some of it into his phone for future analysis – when the pair get back to the studio ‘Cave Rave’ is the result. After the beach jam which spawned ‘Eyl Booty’ (brk011) Geiom is making preparations to leave when one of the pirates shows him a video camera with footage of their most ambitious raid – the capture of the Sirius Star oil tanker – Geiom likes the idea of this ramshackle bunch going head to head with the greedy oil barons. He agrees to make the pirates something they can pump out while they make their way across the Indian Ocean – ‘give us something with a lot of bass – we kitted out our speedboats with some tasty subwoofers’ is the request. Geiom also includes some audio from the footage for good measure. ‘Sirius Star’ is going to be rocking boats, cars and raves everywhere for some time to come…
