Villem is one half of Mute (Mute & Mako) and has forthcoming releases on Symmetry to boot. “Splinter in your mind” is one of the labels’ favourites, great rolling drums, super low sub rolls & excellent production, yet another banger in the series! CITRUS045 – Mindscape & Ryme Tyme / Jade & Mastif – Sickness (Zero Method Remix) / Time Trap – 12″ Vinyl
The original version of Sickness by Mindscape and Ryme Tyme featured on the Citrus album ‘Juiceblender 2′, and was the HIT single of the album. As a taster for the album it was also released as a limited edition coloured vinyl sampler and that was sold out in just a few weeks! For the remix we have the new Hungarian production talent ZERO METHOD stepping in. The potential of his talent is extreme as you will hear when you are listening to this killer remix. While the original vibe is fully respected, the remixs brings just that edge to it people want to experience on the dancefloor. A very very tight production and a fave for dj’s like Ed Rush, Dose, Nymfo and alot more for some time now! As every dnb head must know the Budapest drum’n bass scene is creating some of the most innovative sounds out there. With guys like Jade, Mindscape, Zero Method and Chris.SU pushing eachother to build even better sounds than the next. Jade and Mastif with their new track for Citrus are a good example of the gems that come out of the constant wish to top eachother sounds. New D&B Promos

DIS046 – Nymfo / Cern & Nymfo – Recollection / Desert Heat – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. Here we present a mighty talented D & B export from Holland in the form of Nymfo; His tracks can be frequently heard in drum and sets almost everywhere from everyone and we’re sure that the featured A side “Recollection” that he presents for us as at Dispatch as his debut release on the label will be no exception! The other track making up this release is just just as devastating as the A side “Desert Heat” which has been written by Dispatch artist Cern & Nymfo together provides the kind of intro that might give a false sense of safety; that is before it drops and releases some solid heavy hitting drum work and some pure internal organ shaking low end sub. A mass of support on this release from the A-list gang such as; Alix Perez, Icicle, London Elektricity, Ulterior Motive, Ant TC1, Total Science, Survival, Fierce, Spectrasoul, Hybris, Skeptical, Vicious Circle, Universal Project, Stray, Anile, Octane & DLR, EBK, State of Mind, Judda & Krakota.

DMND004 – BTK & Optiv – Crawler / Music Within – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. It’s clear to see that the first half of 2011 has been an amazing one for Demand Records. With their first release jumping straight into the Beatport charts at #1, the second seeing Nymfo’s first ever remix and with the ink still drying on the license request for Demand’s third release to appear on the latest compilation CD from UKF, it’s clear that this label has achieved more than most start-ups. So it’s no real surprise that the fourth outing from the Swiss-owned imprint is something special too. Here we see Cause 4 Concern member and highly accomplished solo producer, Optiv, team up with Renegade Hardware’s BTK to craft two incredible drum & bass tracks with a completely unique feel. ‘Crawler’ features Presence Known on the beats who helps Optiv & BTK to craft a tribal drum-led slice of D&B with expertly placed sound FX and atmospheric touches. This is like a modern twist on the classic Virus sound, flexing delicate and understated beats with winding mid range synths and deep sub-bass. Impeccable! Backing it up is ‘Music Within’ featuring Podage & LaMeduza. Building slowly and gradually with powerful vocals, once again we’re treated to an education in the art of subtle drum & bass. If you’re looking for rinsed out amens and heavily distorted reese basslines then turn your attentions elsewhere, because this track is as beautiful as it is elegant. It won’t be turning any raves upside down, but that’s not really the point of good music, is it?

NOPPACD001 – Tes La Rok – Them – CD
Tes La Rok’s highly anticipated debut album entitled ‘Them’ will finally see the light of day. Tes La Rok made his name in dubstep circles in 2007 with the massive “Round The World Girls Remix” which immediately positioned him as one of the most exciting artists and definitely one to watch. Anthem releases such as ‘Under The Dancing Feet’ remix for Clouds, ‘Wikidness Remix’ for Mungo’s Hi-Fi, and ‘Up In The Vip / Living Fire’ on Dub Police were soon followed by bookings at DMZ in Brixton and dubstep mecca FWD>> at Plastic People. ‘Them’ features thirteen tracks engineered with precision and care. ‘Invasion’ sets the album off in a deep and minimal flavour followed by the dark and abyssal ‘Earth’. The album title track ‘Them’ mixes techno flavours with tribal percussions and futuristic basslines. ‘Murda’ takes the sound back to the year 2006 which is the year when it was originally composed and luckily recovered from a destroyed hard drive! ‘Virus’ is a dark mutated sci-fi roller followed by ‘You & I’, the track that has been causing waves all over the world. Tes gives a taste of his old junglist roots on 140bpm amen roller ‘Secrets’ and as a follow-up tests his hands on hip hop vibes in ‘Malfunction’. ‘Tribal Ting’ and ‘Spiritual Ting’ showcase the more known Tes La Rok dubwise production and his profound love to dig dub stepper sounds. ‘What’ and ‘From The Shadows’ combine deep & beautiful atmospheres with post-garage drums patterns and subheavy basslines. To bring the album to a finale and give a hint of the future, ‘Turn It Up’ brings in chopped vocals and raw 808 bass. Coming from the land of three months of nearly zero sunlight it is by no means a surprise that this album is deep, dark and futuristic. From the music to the artwork there’s a touch of Bladerunner and Alien. These tracks are being championed by the main players such as Distance, N-Type, Kryptic, Minds, Desto, Pinch, Addison Groove and Cyrus.

EXIT031 – Synkro & Indigo – Guidance – 12″ Vinyl
Never afraid to write music from the heart rather than trying to fit a mould Synkro & Indigo bring a refreshing and inspirational sound to the table and Exit Records are proud to provide an outlet for their work. Their dedicated followers have eagerly awaited guidance, and there’s good reason. Awash with lush atmospheres and vocals it’s a track that manages to touch the listener’s soul and becomes more addictive the more it’s listened to. Delayed snare rolls and fills create an ocean of space for the ambience to develop into a warm and cosey blanket of pure bliss. Reflection contains the same emotion triggering qualities as the A side and is the perfect partner. A little more drum based than its accomplice but just as soothing, it takes you through a workout of intricate beat edits and mixes distant classical vocals with subtle chord progressions.

3024014 – Jon Convex – Convexations – 12″ Vinyl
Coming off the back off a sustained period of acclaim as one half of Instramental (an act who you haven’t heard the last of) we’re incandescently proud to debut longtime 3024 alumni Damon Kirkham’s first solo material as Jon Convex with a sound that strikes off in a direction entirely of its own, while mirroring the roaming analogue methodology of his group’s latter day work. Opener ‘Convexations’ raises the curtain with traces of Yamaha fog and a hollowed out kick before a bassline fusing Giorgio Moroder with The Human Centipede rears up to provide unrelenting forward momentum. Glimpses of dialogue warped to the point of gibberish, an ever growing chorus of muttering percussive synths and a zero gravity drop complete the picture of a ride in cattle class all the way to Pittsburgh. ’Falling Again’ dials back its predecessor’s intensity, evoking a robotic production line take on UKG. A metronomic 2-step rhythm forms the basis for a replicant diva’s final performance while another strikingly organic bass line spends the duration of the track expanding and arcing with all the grace of a particularly low frequency solar flare. Exclusive to the digital version is ‘Order Into Chaos’. The first Jon Convex track we heard, a particularly intense 3024 board meeting saw it declared too good to leave sitting on the shelf. The most (warehouse) floor focused track offered here and a heads down simmering vat of acid, the surface of which sporadically erupts in frothing signal distortion and T1000 kicks. With the audio content taking a turn into harder and darker territory, Erosie’s inimitable artwork provides an inky curve ball by taking his collage series into a softer but no less vivid palette providing another perfect visual counterpoint to proceedings.

SUBSCUM007 – Crushington – Big Hit / King Koopa – 12″ Vinyl
Finally SCUM recordings unleashes its next talents.. Crushtington hailing from New Zealand  is no unknown face in the DnB scene.. can you guess who it is? And like the Dnb they make this Dubstep isn’t for the faint hearted. As your used to from the SCUM camp we’re bringing you next level heavyweight riddims and this release is no exception. The single starts off with Big Hit.. A electrified stepper with a hefty 4×4 drop.. Crushtington shows what their worth right here and now with this one.  Smash this one on the decks and see the dancefloor crumble at your feet. No happy jum up styles here just straight up grimness! Next up its King Koopa. Unlike the giant lizard who Super Mario needs to defeat to save his precious princess this is one ferocious, mean, fire breathing track that won’t let go so easy. This one packs a punch that will knock any mushroom or fire flower straight out of your big body in seconds. So better make sure you got some 1up’s  to make it through this one!

NS008R – Girl Unit – Wut (Claude Vonstroke Remixs) – 12″ Vinyl
We were adamant: “no ‘Wut’ remixes”. But when Vonstroke comes knocking you let him in! Driven by CVS’ own enthusiasm for Girl Unit’s 2010 anthem, the Dirty Bird label boss submitted to us three different versions of his remix, each progressively more stripped down. All three transform ‘Wut’ from gleaming crunk anthem to bass-driven house metatool, expanding on its raw big-room essence. Here we release two of the three versions. On side A Vonstroke’s “Undressed” mix borrows Girl Unit’s synth arrangements and vocal tics, keeping all the ecstasy and emotion of the original for its epic swells, which build up to huge cavernous drops of pitched Miami bass hits and clattering 808s. Quintessentially CVS, this is the sound of Night Slugs x Dirty Bird. On side AA is the “Butt Naked Mix” (title picked by Vonstroke in true DB style). This version relates to the original only in the most spectral sense, stripping away almost all of Girl Unit’s stems and melodic elements. The result is a beautifully restrained rhythm track, a machine-like big-room dub that builds and drops so elegantly yet so devastatingly. The work of a true master!

ORCA004 – xxxy – You Gotta Do You – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy. Following the huge success of XI’s second release, Orca Recordings is back to deliver its highly anticipated forth instalment; this time from the highly versatile Xxxy , who has delivered two unbelievably cuts for his first 12” on the label. It has been an unbelievable year for Xxxy, with the success of ‘You Always Start It’ on Ten Thousand Yen capturing the attention of many of the scene’s tastemakers including Mount Kimbie, Untold MJ Cole and many others. With his new outing on Orca, Xxxy’s musical style has evolved considerably to incorporate a whole new set of influences and ideas, which leads us to proudly announce that the productions set to be released in the Orca series are ‘You Gotta Do You’ and ‘Open Your Eyes’. ‘You Gotta Do You’ sees Xxxy venture into new sonic territory drawing influence from acid techno, continuing the creative exploration of this classic sound alongside other contemporary artists like Boddika and Blawan. The driving 808’s and futuristic synth arpeggios give this all the heavy vibes of a classic Underground Resistance release with a unique modern interpretation. On the flip, ‘Open Your Eyes’ carries a completely different focus, taking on all the features of an early 90’s jungle anthem and re-contextualizing them into 130bpm amen drivenworkout. Both of these productions are from the ethos that looking into the past for musical inspiration and to create a new breed of sound that is strong enough to smash the biggest clubs but versatile enough to please the most discerning headphone listener.

BRK020 – Erra – Stax / Jookup – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy, Berkane Sol present the vinyl debut of Erra. Erra comes bursting through your speakers with a riot of tuff drums and sweet melody – its like the sound of someone who’s rinsed their console so much that its gone way beyond high scores and into a full on system meltdown. ‘Stax’ starts out with a dreamy intro which leads into the rudest of wake up calls – a proper peak-time jackin’ synth stab married to a smartly evolved bassline, all driven by concussive garage flavoured rhythms. ‘Jookup’ on the flip again demonstrates Erra’s irresistible talent for blending blissful keys with hectic dancefloor moments, this time really bringing the sickly grime synths to the front, with some cute but disembodied vocals punctuating the action. The 12” follows up Erra’s popular L2S digital release ‘Cake Music’, and neatly shows off this young producers rapid development. These tracks have been getting love from people such as: Al Tourettes (Applepips), Mary Anne Hobbs, Brackles (Rinse FM), N Type (Wheel and Deal), DJ Flight (1 Xtra), Spamchop (Wigflex), 2562 (Tectonic), Shortstuff (Ramp), Cardopusher (Hyperdub), Martyn (3024), Martin Kemp (Blunted Robots), Elgato (Hessle Audio), Selector dub U (Hotflush), Skipple (Sub FM), West Norwood Cassette Library (Teal), King Thing (Fortified)

PLATTER002 – S-Max & Spatial – Ms. Rosen Dub / Corti – 12″ Vinyl
The second serving from Schmorgasbord brings together two relatively disparate and unrelated artists, but who both share a uniquely twisted approach to making music. S-Max has been doing his thing for some time, running legendary home all things bizarre in house and techno, Boogizm, and releasing a special kind of groove on labels such as Telegraph, 7th City and Karloff. His original track, ‘Ms. Rosen Dub’, swaggers and sways with the spirit of classic Yorkshire bleeps and bass. The groove is house, but the spirit of adventure is most definitely techno. His remix of Spatial’s ‘Corti’ takes a very different approach, taking a rolling, jungle-like approach to dubstep and nailing it to the groove with stabbing bass notes. Spatial leapt onto the bass music radar late 2008 with his shadowy Infrasonics imprint, and quickly snapped heads with his crisp, refined approach to 2-step rhythms. Since then he’s done things on his own terms, only releasing for himself and mutating his sound over a series of 10”s. ‘Corti’ perfectly demonstrates Spatials unconventional tendencies, lurching and buckling around a perfectly honed splatter of beats, off-centre synths and delirious vocal snippets. Meanwhile on his remix of S-Max, Spatial flips the script once again with a stomping, swung techno angle that hammers the original into an uptempo, fist-pumping banger.

OUTNL001 – Kastil – Dusty Edits – 12″ Vinyl
File under Disco Edits. As an extension of their Dutch electronic music website Outernational.nl, we present you the newly born imprint Outernational Recordings. The kick off for this unique vinyl series is by Basque County native Kastil who sets the right tone with three wonderful Disco edits at a mid-tempo / slomo pace. Since uploading these tracks to his SoundCloud page, the feedback has been enormous. Side A contains the long, slow and loopy ‘Back to Philadelphia’, where Kastil cleverly plays with the vocals and delay and creates a highly tense build up. There’s no doubt that some large players in the very popular Disco edit culture will play this one out. On the B1 side you find the track ‘SMD’. A track which received great feedback by some key figures on SoundCloud. This track is the ultimate pre-lude for the summer. Fortunately, this is being released just early enough to enjoy this during the European and Northern American summer. With again beautiful vocals floating through the track, this track definitely reminds one of a hot day in the local park. The B2 track is called ‘Rolls Royce’. Perfect as the last track of this release since it’s a long edit which ends with a very atmospheric piano solo that keeps on floating through the last few minutes of the track. All and all, these edits will definitely make some heads turn after the date of release. Supported by: Cosmic Boogie, Dicky Trisco, The Legendary 1979 Orchestra, Sleazy Beats Recordings, Ben La Desh, 78 Edits, Osvaldo Wilson, Mannmademusic, Gitchell Moore

RWINA013 – Desto – Makowrap EP – 12″ Vinyl
Rwina Records follows up Doshy’s unforgettable ‘Suspiria’ EP with yet another massive and dramatic A-side, this time from Finnish dubstep producer Desto.  Like ‘Suspiria’, Desto’s ‘Makowrap’ is all about uncompromising focus, exacting precision and killer melodies, with the normally hyperactive producer temporarily shelving his loopy constructions and frantic arpeggios and instead favouring a measured, slowly building progression instead.  Desto’s volatile energy is channelled into bursts of epic, triumphant melody, undeniably anthemic each and every single time they stream out blindingly over the track’s weighty kick, a reminder that this is, in fact, bass music after all.  The hushed chords and skittering, exaggerated snares that dribble and melt all over the track put a noticeably hip-hop slant that permeates the rest of the EP. The other two tracks hearken back to the usual kind of colourful dubstep Desto is associated with, all arpeggiated fireworks and topsy-turvy synth chords. ‘Neptune’ staggers down a descending progression into plateaus of sub-bass throb as synths twinkle and shoot out from the empty spaces, playful percussive accents peeking out mischievously, the sound of drum machines misbehaving.  The other track on the flipside focus around vocal samples, with ‘Overkrookd’ attacking a frightened vocal with monotonous LFO stabs that occasionally break through into an undersea world of squiggling chords and bubbling melodies, Jokeresque majesty that quickly flatlines back into the track’s unforgiving mechano-skank. Finally, as an exclusive extra digital; ‘React’ drops somersaulting breakbeats over more of those aqueous 8-bit synths, alternately trilling gently and smearing themselves across the wet, mouldy canvas.  While it’s quite possibly the label’s most dubstep-centric release yet, Desto’s ‘Makowrap’ is just another in a series of masterful releases combining the most colourful and vibrant sectors of dubstep and grime with hip-hop swagger, melodically rich while keeping them fully focused on the dancefloor.

TUBA002 – J Kenzo / The Spit Brothers – Nocturnal Feelings / Beg To Differ (DJG Remix) – 12″ Vinyl
The second release from Dubs Alive’s sister label, TUBA, features the deep and intense sound of the UK’s J:Kenzo. His A side track, Nocturnal Feelings Is a dark, serious work that brilliantly juxtaposes hard bass lines, frantic percussion, and atmospheric depth. The B side debuts The Spit Brothers on vinyl with Beg to Differ, a sub driven, meditative, and minimalistic affair. The record closes with DJG’s Reformat of Beg to Differ. This forward thinking track showcases DJG’s intelligent approach to bass music. His reformat balances the deep with the dance oh-so-well

UNTITLED004 – 501 feat. Kaleb – Strings Attached / Smoke And Mirrors – 12″ Vinyl
Strings Attached: The trance intro might leave some confused to what to expect from the drop. But when it does it takes away all confusion and injects you with a shot of adrenaline with it’s catchy bass and filtered vocals courtesy of Kaleb. This tune has had serious impact across the globe as a dubplate and will have an even bigger impact upon it’s release. Smoke and Mirrors: Smoke and Mirrors has Finnish supertalent 501 showing his ability to fuse different elements into one big tune. From the morphing guitars in the intro to the purple drop and twisted vocals with glitchy fx further in it is clear why this producer is hot on every one’s lip. This tune just progresses and progresses and will leave you wanting to flip over to the b-side.

Marcus Intalex’s ’21′ Album is incoming….

Marcus Intalex’s ’21′ Album is incoming….

Posted 16 February 2011 | By | Categories: news, tracks, video | No Comments

For over two decades, no one had pushed the legacy of bass culture like the stalwart for the deeper end of the spectrum, Marcus Intalex. And yet, despite his storied back catalog of scene-defining releases, genre-crossing remixes, and even a revolutionary LP with M.I.S.T. and calibre (as Mist:ical), the music world has never been graced with a solo album from the innovator himself. Until now, 21 years in.

Since 1990, whether DJing, promoting events (including his Soul:ution nights), radio shows, working in record shops, or running his two historic record labels, Marcus Intalex has always had his hand in music, working his way from being the assistant sweeping the back room of vinyl shops, to being the DJ in front of 50,000 people. Since bright beginnings DJing in Manchester’s underground, and his incomparable first productions with ST Files, even from the outset there was something about Intalex that refused to fit in a comfortable box. It’s a notion that’s followed his every move as a bold A&R visionary, being the first label to sign genre-challengers such as Martyn, Instra:mental and Calibre. Perhaps it can all be traced back to his early days in Manchester, when electronic music was too new to even have boxes or set genres.

Marcus Intalex

In the 80′s, I was always into synth bands, I always liked the idea of synthesized music. When I started DJing, it was just at the start of the Chicago and Detroit sound. That was really my first love of electronic music, and I caught it at the right time. It was at the beginning, there was a buzz, and then obviously the whole rave scene developed. Seeing all of that happen, and going out to the Hacienda for the first time and hearing the DJs play this music that I’d never heard before…it was such an amazing introduction to it, I never lost the love for it.”

Forever bearing a strong alliance with techno, and coming from an upbringing when music defied descroptors, it seems only natural that now, fast forwarding to the present, Intalex would be drawn to the current sounds rumbling the bass circuit (the sounds that, likewise, fall into haphazardly constructed genres like “post-dubstep” or “future bass”). It also comes as vey little suprise that his productions would sway away from conformity, as seen in his most recent productions. His downtempo tracks are currently being championed by the beatseekers of the scene, such as Radio 1′s Benji B and Eglo’s Alexander Nut, Swamp 81′s leader Loefah, 3024 boss Martyn, Scuba, Oneman and 2562.

I’ve found alot of the new sounds are more me than anything, really. It’s influenced by everything I’ve been into for the 21 years, everything I’ve believed in – Techno, the earlier sounds of Drum & Bass, and it’s experimental. The balance in power shifted – not away from Drum & Bass, but almost away from commercial dance music. It’s a 130-140BPM tempo, and that’s all it is: a tempo; it’s an open script otherwise. It’s brilliant.

To Me, Drum & Bass is something that alot of people have ridden on success-wise, and now people have to work a little bit harder because the spotlight is elsewhere. And they are doing exactly that. There seems to be alot of innovative Drum & Bass music coming from alot of different angles and different parts of the world. It’s opened up a new appreciation for the subtelty in D&B. The deeper side has gotten more interesting than ever.

With his first long player, ’21′ is rightly trying to go its own way, regardless of expectation or reaction, just as Intalex has always done as an artist. The result is a wildly unpredictable, yet entirely cohesive, view of where Marcus Intalex stands now, after over 2 decades of watching cycles come and go, and sounds shift and mutate.

I do feel a tinge of regret for not doing this sooner, but I’ve never been one to do something just because it’s what you’re supposed to do. It’s not as though the whole 21 years has been building up to this moment, where I’ve been working to create a tour de force. It just so happens that right now, I’m making some music that I’m happy with; I’m enjoying the studio more than ever before.

The album’s not necessarily crying out to be noticed, and I haven’t done it with that in mind – It’s quite an introspective things, actually. I’ve had a great 21 years. Being in the business for so long, you would normally expect to feel like you’re entering the twilight of your careerm but really and truly I feel more ready for the future than I have ever felt before.

New D&B CD

MJAZZLP04 – Various – The Modernists 2 CD – CD
The CD album is strictly limited to 100 hand finished copies, so certainly something for the collectors. Tony Justice’s MJazz label has come good with the second instalment on it’s limited CD series. “The Modernists 2” brings together an international selection of new skool artists laced together with techno and electronic influences… The project boasts several producers who’s names are practically buzz words in contemporary deep drum & bass. “Reklas” by Berlin’s Felix K is a personal favorite of ours, incorporating a relentless white noise-esque snare with deep sub bass and tense stabs. Also deserving a special metion is relative newcomer Dominick Ridgeway’s “My Reflection”, minimal by definition, subtle and cinematic by character. Justice & Metro’s “Sounds Like Something” takes the listener firmly away from the dancefloor and straight into the future dystopia of a city landscape that would be at home in Bladerunner, stripping away the beats and focussing on some seriously synthed out keys and pads.

CF044 – Quadrant – Dermaphoria EP – 12″ Vinyl x 2
Finish copy promo. Some producers are just so underrated that it makes you sick. Quadrant is a formation that’s been around since 2005 and has released tracks on prestigious labels like Renegade Hardware, Citrus, Fokuz to name a few. The quality of their output is extraordinarily crisp and original that it’s hard not to notice them, this Dermaphoria EP is exactly that. And as allways this Quadrant release comes with a sexy cover by designer ‘MESK’ State Of Mind gets in on a remix for Rage & Rapture and stretches the trance vibe out and adds their signature SOM tech sound.. Didi’s vocals stay intact and sound even more lush as they did before soaring over the beats like a bird above the clouds. ‘A Healthy Distrust’ is on the flip and this one is one to be noticed. Its minimal melancholic vibe is dark and ominous and will suck you in straight away. Heavy big kicks haunt the track like the drums of a voodoo witchdoctor in the jungle. Its spacious vibe is dreamy and eerie at the same time. Keep on your guard and pay attention to this one. Disc 2 holds ‘The Stars Are Bleeding’ Quadrant shows here at what their best at. Sounding like the cry of a 1000 angels falling from heaven. Beautiful and sad at the same time and sending chills down your spine and back up again. The bass line rolls underneath like a bed of feathers giving hope but the outcome is not certain. Citrus saves the best for last and that is of course the title track ‘Dermaphoria’. Quadrant shows there’s a brighter side and makes sure you know it with this uplifting funker. When this one hits standing still is not an option, the bass line will sweep you of your feet in no time and shoot you into the Dermaphoria Quadrant. 0 Gravity beats and sweeps are coming at you at all sides so you are warned!

RDR002 – Shameboy / Buscemi – Strobot – NETSKY rmx / Seaside – KG rmx – 12″ Vinyl
Murdock’s Radar Records launches an entirely new project, backed by some of the biggest names in drum&bass. Remixing a gang of classic Belgian non-dnb tracks by the likes of T99, Sound of Stereo, The Subs, Outlander and many more, they kick off the series with massive drum&bass reworks by none other than Netsky and KG. Drum & Bass’ new poster boy / boy wonder Netsky steps to the plate with the awesomeness that is his version of Shameboy’s classic electro banger ‘Strobot’, which was the first tune in his BBC Radio1 Essential Mix and has had a lot of exposure worldwide, as his Mix was voted 3rd best Essential Mix of the year 2010! The track has had spins by Andy C, Danny Byrd, Camo & Krooked and many more. KG ripped up Buscemi’s laidback house classic ‘Seaside’ and turned it into a dancefloor stomper. Opening with funky licks and classic breaks, he quickly rolls into a big jump-up monster, while still adding some vocals and rhodes piano for good measure. This one is being caned by Bassline Smith, Hamilton and Zen, to name just a few. Next up in the Radar Remixes series are contributions by Nymfo, Blame, Crystal Clear, Break, Marky & SPY and many more, so keep your eyes and ears pealed!

DOT004 – Duffstep – Getting to Sirius – CD
Limited edition gapless audio CD. Until now Duffstep has been hidden in the seedy undergrowth of London always disguised, clandestine, covert, forever plotting his imminent escape. This bid for freedom then is called ‘Getting to Sirius’. Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, in Ancient Greek times Sirius was said to mark the beginning of summer, where women became aroused and men became weak. The gods screamed for glory and the crowd screamed one more. Duffstep’s debut album ‘Getting to Sirius’ is a heady potion laced with influences of dub and down tempo beats, winding through layers of melody and synths whilst vocals soften the blow providing a nice, warm and fuzzy edge to the thick slabs of sonic concrete. Though you won’t have to wait before a nice big bass-line knocks you down on your arse again. It’s a migration then from early morning blissful sweeps and sonic washes. It is the soul of rave, it is it’s long dead cousin come back to haunt it. It is the sound rave makes when it re-enters the earth’s atmosphere. Aside from travelling to Sirius on weekends, Duffstep can also be found sharing a stage with some of the biggest names in electronic music, Flying Lotus, Pinch, Martyn, Commix, Ramadanman, Pariah and Kode 9 to name a few. As well as teaming up alongside Rebel Overlay one of the VJ scenes brightest assets, Duffstep has begun touring a massive live show that is set to be unveiled from Timbuktu to Teignmouth. Accompanying the debut LP will be 3 remix EP’s straddling the realms of dubstep, house and disco from an ever emerging pool of old and new guard. Remixes split across both digital and vinyl include re-tellings from FaltyDL, Elliphino and Young Montana? On the dub orientated EP with Mark E, Session Victim and Riley Reinhold, Loose fit, Social Monster and Duffstep’s Thursday night drag act alter-ego Duff Disco taking things to house and disco dancefloors. DISF011 – Instra:mental / Von D & Riskotheque – Voyeur / Like A Bird – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. Skream’s label rounds of 2010 with a classic release. Its not often a gem like this comes along and its no surprise that fellow production collaborator Skream picked it up for his Disfigured Dubz imprint. Having been a regular floor filler over the past year within the emerging techno x dubstep scene, ‘Voyeur’ has been in high demand and finally sees the light of day to many peoples delight. It was one of Instra:mentals first dabbles with the 4/4 structure but has the maturity and qualities of a rediscovered 90s classic. Lazy robo beats set the tone for a slurred vocal that sounds like a drunken tourist in a red light district. At the same time, spacey atmospheres build in the background until they reach a peak and fade away into screaming stabs that get the crowd going mental. Expect to hear this for many years to come and could possibly reach classic status. Next up we have the AA side from upcoming artists Von D and Riskotheque. With their jazz/soul fueled take on Dubstep they’re building their own little niche within the scene and are sure to shine this year. ‘Like a bird’ mixes old skool vocal snippets, lurching fizzy mids and Detroit style stabs to create this monster that Skream and his fellow Djs have been rinsing to full effect over the last couple of months. A perfect balance of musical prowess and heavyweight beats and bass, this tune covers all angles nicely.

NONPLUSLP002PART1 – LOL – LOL Part 1 – 12″ Vinyl
lol is a bit of an unusual project, it’s just a thing in it’s own right, it’s not ‘for’ anything or anyone in particular, it’s just an LP made by three bored people who like music that sounds like it did before the advent of the internet. The project was recorded in the bedroom of a warehouse conversion in Hackney Wick (bedrooms can be incredibly creative spaces, seeing as most of us were conceived in one) They wrote about self-obsession, social anxiety, drug abuse, and failed relationships using pre-21st century recording devices such as VHS tape, 70′s valve microphones, analogue synths, cheap Argos catalogue guitars, and 80′s drum machines. The resulting music was sent to a handful of people they thought were similarly musically inclined; people deeply into producer culture who never rabidly stuck to one way of doing things, in the hope that they might like it too. After a few positive responses, it was decided to keep the project close to where it was created and London based label Nonplus+ Records proudly put their name behind it. The name was chosen after a text conversation about potential band names – none of which sounded right – with the last suggestion being “Polterchrist?” which was replied to with a simple “lol”. lol sounded neat so that was it. They liked the fact that it used to be an abbreviation for ‘lots of love’ but now just means ‘laughing out loud’. It seemed to fit the cheap, cynical nature of what they’d written about… oh and it looks a bit like a person with their hands in the air.

PIPS014 – Orphan101 – Propa / Disemble – 12″ Vinyl
Apple Pips is proud to present another original new talent from the Bristol bass underground – Orphan101. Having cut his teeth on Bristol pirate radio with Headhunter aka Addison Groove, Orphan101 surfaced earlier this year with some promising releases on Saigon and his own Decarhythm label, one of several new labels in Bristol (along with If Symptoms Persist, Idle Hands, & Subdepth) to be pushing a varied and seemingly boundary less take on bass music. A residency at the Apple Pips nights in Bristol allowed him to road test his beats and it’s here that Appleblim heard the awesome rolling 2-step-meets-Carl Craig-in-a-Bristol-soundclash track that is ‘Propa’. With skippy garage beats, a bleeped out intro, and the deepest sub-bass this side of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, you need to hear this track on a system. It hurts! On the flip ‘Disemble’ takes us on a journey through his vision of minimal techno, in a dubstep context, with scratchy percussion rubbing up against twisted Ed & Optical ‘Wormhole’ era bass spasms. Having just come from playing at Fabric for Apple Pips takeover, things are looking great in 2011 for Orphan101. Early DJ/Radio support already coming from Mark Pritchard (Warp/Harmonic 313/Afrika Hi Tech), Instra:mental (Non-plus/Swamp81), Addison Groove, 2562 (Tectonic), Laurent Garnier, Angel Molina (Tresor) & more

DOT003 – Duffstep – Getting To Sirius Remix EP #1 – 12″ Vinyl
Like the joining of ancient clans or the marriage of Marie Antoinette to Louis of France the joining of the Duff brothers is something of a historical milestone. Since birth the Duff’s have gone their separate ways, one getting down on the worlds hipper dancefloors, hips-awiggling, head thrown back in rapture and all under a spinning disco ball. The other brother the troubled teen, hood up, eyes down, bass rumbling, one time selecta. Imagine then two estranged brothers, born from the same seed living awkwardly side by side, never entirely comfortable in each other’s company finally uniting on one massive inbred slab of sonic harmony. If you can imagine that slightly cack-handed analogy then that is pretty much what you get here. After a year of huge edits and original material Duff Disco has finally gone and had a fiddle with his brother? Both taken from the forthcoming Duffstep album ‘Getting To Sirius’, ‘Your Touch’ and ‘Backseat’ are original Duffstep tracks given a cosmic make over by Duff Disco. They are proper modern disco music that sits just the right side of funky, without conjuring images of fluffy boots and spiky hair, white shirts and fake tan. Whilst Backseat is the more euphoric of the two Your Touch is more moody than an emo teenager watching Twighlight. Both obviously Duff Disco but somehow keeping the family together as Duffstep’s finger prints are all over these too.

502002 – Jay Weed – Prism / The Naos – 12″ Vinyl
The second release on Oneman’s 502 Recordings will be from French producer Jay Weed. The Lyon-based producer who also has a 12″ waiting to be put out by Grizzly, the label Sinden founded. As Sinden said he is making the music that we love on the show, risk taking, genre defying, musical and weird! He’s carving out his own mutant house sound – so refreshing.

SPEAKS003 – Sekta – Liquid Tek EP – 12″ Vinyl
No doubt looking for somewhere with a bit of political stability and a brighter economic future, 24 year old Polish producer Jan Dudzik aka Sekta recently joined many of his compatriots by leaving London and farking off back to his native Warsaw. Luckily, he left us a bottle of the finest vodka to remember him by, and a four track EP of stepping rhythms, fat bass and dubby atmospherics to help wash it down. Lead track ‘Liquid Tek’combines deep pads, pulsing subs, metallic riffs and broken beats into a floor friendly, but contemplative post dubstepper. Similar elements are combined in “ I Need’ , with a sliver of vocal adding an extra layer to the musical equation. ‘Hakka Riddim’ takes things a bit heavier, coiling beefy synth stabs around it’s insistent rhythms , and employing a spacey string interlude to break things up along the way. Closing track ‘Deep in the Woods’ takes the trace of D n B textures that run through the EP and lets loose, with full on, chopped up Amen breaks accompanying futuristic pads, robo-synths and occasional flourishes of cinematic strings that hint of Easter European nostalgia.

New Bass Music Promos

NOMIC005 – They Live – Pure Palms / Don’t Know What To Say – 12″ Vinyl
The first release for Consequence and Joe Seven’s new alias ‘They Live’ is on dBridge & Instra:mental’s Autonomic label. Creeping in with a slightly haunting melody and sparse drums, ‘Pure Palms’ starts off with little indication of where the track might lead; it feels as though it could go in any direction. As it slowly builds, the warmth and weight – and deep-set rhythms – that Consequence is known for begin settling, and open up to an evocative, widescreen track of immense beauty. They Live’s musicality comes through strong throughout the detailed turnings of the downtempo masterpiece, with immersive low-end fills and intricate percussion that take all headphones hostage. ‘Don’t Know What To Say’ brings a darker edge, with crackling sound effects and an ominous, spine-chilling bassline that creates intense and intriguing dynamics. As a solemn melody builds, once again They Live bring a cinematic feel to the dense, ever-growing atmosphere. Brooding with textured sounds, skyscraping synths and head-nodding beats, the mesmerizing track shows huge promise of what’s to come from the powerful duo.

DP049 – KGB – Ghetto Blasta 2010 / Hands Up – 12″ Vinyl
Estonian duo KGB step up for their debut release on Dub Police and they certainly aren’t pulling any punches. The production partnership hit you with two cuts of pure dance floor energy and impact that display their versatility and uncanny knowledge of how to get a crowd going. If you don’t know about KGB, you better get to know, as they are quickly establishing themselves as one of the rising stars in underground dance music. With plenty of tricks up their sleeves, there will be no stopping them in 2011! ‘Ghetto Blaster 2010’ draws upon different elements of underground bass music and melds them together in to something entirely unique and undeniably infectious. Taking the growling midrange bass-weight of dubstep and wiring it to a militant UK Funky drum march, KGB give the track an unstoppable momentum and punishing impact that is impossible to fight against – With an artillery that includes fire like this, it is no wonder they are quickly paving their path to the top. On the flipside, KGB deliver something very different. Pinned down by the tough half-step drum pattern, ‘Hands Up’ is all about the maniacal intertwining bass lines. When this track drops there is no denying its fierce, in-your-face power.

RS1006RMX – Model 500 – OFI (Space Dimension Controller & Bullion Remxes) – 12″ Vinyl
Model 500 returned triumphantly to R&S in 2010, with their first release for the label in eleven years, and the first with the new line up of Juan Atkins, Mike Banks and Mark Taylor. They found themselves label mates with some of the finest young electronic producers working in music today, and back on a rejuvenated label that was making the top ten labels of the year lists from the likes of Fact, XLR8R, RA, Juno and Bleep. It makes total sense that the lead track from the OFI ep is handed over to two amazing young producers to reinterpret it in their own unique ways. Bullion made his name with the internet sensation Songs In The Key Of Dee release which blended The Beach Boys and Dilla into a hip hop masterpiece. Recently he’s released the You Drive Me To Plastic ‘non LP’ on Young Turks, which has cemented him as true auteur of the sampler. His rivertrance remix of OFI is simply amazing. How he’s turned the classic Detroit electro of the original into a twisted, psychedelic symphony that laughs in the face of genres, without losing the Model 500 feel, god only knows, but we’re glad he has. Space Dimension Controller returns to the label after releasing his critically acclaimed Temporary Thrillz doublepack. He’s the perfect remixer choice, another space obsessed producer, working on analogue gear and singing on his own tracks like Juan has done since the Cybotron days. SDC replaces Juan’s vocals for his own on his evasive funk mix, keeping the tempo of the original intact, but taking things deeper in his signature style. This single effortly merges the R&S heritage with the forward thinking electronic music of 2011 perfectly, and is a bold statement of intent for the new year.

LIME004 – Jade & Matt-U – Echoes – 12″ Vinyl
Lime Dubz keep on cracking with another too hot to handle release.. The long time duo Jade & Matt-U are reunited once again but not for getting back to their dnb roots. No Jade teams up with Matt-U for some highly technical Dubstep sounds.. Grindhouse on Jade’s Venom LP was just a taster of what was to come.. With Grindhouse still freshly engraved into our memories it’s time to unleash it on vinyl.. But now with 2 brand spanking new heavyweights on there.. Echoes is a sinister roller that’s all over the place bouncing left right up and down there’s no defending against this monster track.. Instead of going all tear out they crossover to a more medi hybrid sound that will suit well with Dubsteppers of all ages.. The last new track on the 12 is Pump. You guys are thinking it.. and we can confirm.. Yes this is a bass line monster if there ever was one. Grab all of your PA’s boys and girls and turn up the volume to max cause its only happening when your chest starts rattlin..

THIN16 – Funckarma – Dubstoned 5 EP – 12″ Vinyl
As we’ve been stalking the Funckens for ten years now, after stumbling upon their parts series on DUB when we were still students, trekking religiously to the Sirius on weekends, eventually spending nights in bus shelters to assist to half a live in a school that only served wine, and trying to organise a bash with them in a squat that burned down a week before the bash, before finally inviting them to an exhibition closing party that incidentally marked the beginning of Thin Consolation, they seemed an obvious choice for a release for the tenth anniversary of UNREzT and the fifth of Thin Consolation. Having already graced Thin Consolation with an album in 2006 as Dif:use (with long-time partner Cor Bolten), this time we requested from them a 12″ of a more step-ish inspiration, the fifth in the Dubstoned series, the previous editions having been released on Highpoint Lowlive, Ad Noiseam and Eat Concrete. In so many words, the Dubstoned series is the last major electronic musical genre to have appeared – Dubstep – to be given the special Funcken treatment: a dark and brooding, dub-flavoured electronica. Not for the faint hearted. Mepeche is co-produced by Phinx, and Spectrum is a remix of a track by Eedl, released on the album ‘Everse’, on the Barcelona-based label spa.RK.

RWINA011 – Swindle – Playground – 12″ Vinyl
London grime producer Swindle follows up his incredible Planet Mu EP with another slab of funked-up grime, this time for a rapidly expanding Rwina Records. Swindle’s return marks a slightly stripped-down sound: the funk is meaner, heavier, and nastier. ‘Playground’ grooves on rainbow synths and leisurely, drawn-out melodies, as a boogie bassline carves memorable phrases in the ground below. All of this is shoved in an approachable halfstep template that means the track could just as easily slot into any dubstep set as the grime scene in which Swindle dominates. Did we mention there’s a killer freestyling organ solo in the breakdown? On the b-side, we’re treated to a monstrous remix of SRC’s Rwina anthem ‘Goin Out,’ where that track’s quick and vibrant skip is slowed right down to a trickling drawl. The brusque melodic motifs of the original are flattened out into irresistibly squiggling melodic tangents, and the whole thing is given a muscular makeover that turns the 8-bit funk into lifelike grime. The beats are beefed up — Mario’s emphatic ‘ohs’ hit with every beat like he’s in pain — and the track’s bubble and boil over uncontrollably, a volatile concoction that recklessly sends out unforgettable melodic hooks in all directions. The EP ends with the softer ‘Who’s Quicker’ — which simultaneously speaks to old (and I mean old)-school grime with its barebones percussion breathy samples, but its heads-down meditative bassline speaks to the more reflective side of dubstep. With the Playground EP on Rwina, Swindle reveals what you already knew: that he’s an immensely talented and versatile producer on the top of the grime scene, applying a wide-ranging set of appealing influences to a template that hits home for both grime and dubstep fans. That it comes on Rwina is no surprise: a great producer deserves an equally great label.

Join The Dots Present – Duffstep “Getting To Sirius” LP [DOT004]

Join The Dots Present – Duffstep “Getting To Sirius” LP [DOT004]

Posted 10 January 2011 | By | Categories: news, tracks, video | No Comments

Duffstep

It’s a migration then from early morning blissful sweeps and sonic washes. It is the soul of rave, it is it’s long dead cousin come back to haunt it. It is the sound rave makes when it re-enters the earth’s atmosphere. It isn’t a simple re-working of what has been showcased in recent live outings, it is more contemplative; unlike his more recent outings it is less aimed at the dance-floor and is instead a more, down-tempo, relaxed affair.

New D&B Releases

P51UK019 – Nymfo & Cern – Proton Pack / Off The Radar – 12″ Vinyl
Nymfo has been smashing up the scene as of late with releases on legendary labels such as 31, C.I.A., Ram, and Commercial Suicide. He’s also been busy DJing the globe making appearances at some of the world’s most renown nightclubs including Fabric, Matter, and his own Red Zone. Proton Pack: Nymfo teams up with New Zealand’s own Cern for the a side “Proton Pack”. For anyone following Project 51 for the last 7 years this tune screams undeniable 51 funk. Off the Radar: This dropping bass line roller shows off Nymfo’s mastery of the low end. A sick minimal warehouse vibe that stands true to the pure sound of drum n’ bass. Look out for the next 2 parts of Reboot the System, featuring Prolix, Audio, Blockhead, and the Upbeats. Also, look out for Cern’s debut album on Project Fifty-One coming this summer.

SIRENUK001PT2 – Siren – Broken Silence Part 2 – 12″ Vinyl x 2
Part 2 of the Vinyl Eps’ featuring tracks taken from their debut album, “Broken Silence”, on their own Siren Records has been doing damage on the DJ circuit for some time now. Tracks such as ‘Gumball Rally’ and ‘Broken Silence’ have been staples in the sets of everyone from Andy C to DJ Marky to Fabio and Chase and Status, as well as the new breed of artist producers such as S.P.Y, Spor and Jubei. Over the last 10 years Universal Project are responsible for hits such as ‘Vessel’ on the Virus imprint, ‘Haunted Dreams’ on their own label Universal Project and an EP on DJ Hype’s True Playaz, as well as ‘Streetilfe’ with DJ Friction for Advanced Recordings and many Renegade Hardware smashers such as ‘Danger Chamber’, ‘Comin’ Thru’ and the Black Techno EP. The Universal Project sound is B-Boy breaks with techno elements and dubwise bass, and everything in between. Vicious Circle broke through in 2005 with their monster remix of Universal Project’s ‘Jackhammer’ and have been destroying dancefloors ever since with their unique sound. Releases such as ‘Between the Lines’ and the ‘Welcome to Shanktown’ EP on Renegade Hardware pushed them to the forefront of the tech dnb scene. Subsequent releases on Digital Soundboy, Critical and Quarantine displayed a diverse style that has helped establish them as heavy hitters across the board whilst collaborations with high profile artists such as Chase & Status, Dom & Roland, Fierce and most recently Jubei clearly demonstrate the respect they command from their peers. After spending a lot of time in the studio together Vice and Ruxspin decided to create a new guise for their own brand of rolling future funk. Siren is the result. Both artists in their own right have toured the world from the farthest reaches of Europe to the United States and Asia, consistently destroying dancefloors and gaining a reputation as masters of their craft. The aim of this duo is to cover all styles within the scene and not be constrained by subgenres, whilst still maintaining a dancefloor ethos which is true to their UK roots.

Once again Phunkfiction brings on a hot new talent: NotioN is known for combining deep and dark moods with a wide range of musical elements and influences. ‘Because’ is a sick half tempo track using an ultra catchy pitched down vocal sample and an outstanding sound design – one for the fans of Instra:mental and D-Bridge. ‘Iota’ is a very stripped down dancefloor tool still spreading a big amount of funk – head nodding guaranteed. Both tracks are getting support by many big DJs on the scene.

G-ILLA006 – Dean Rodell & Katharsys – Interceptor / Time Hole – 12″ Vinyl
Straight from New York City comes Guerilla Recordings. With the release of Black Ops perfectly timed, this could be considered as the unofficial Guerilla style soundtrack! Dean Rodell of Machine Code and Subsistenz fame teams up with man of the moment Katharsys. Katharsys made a statement with his recently released ‘Zero Point / Cold Spot’ on Habit Recordings. The ‘Interceptor’ starts off with a the hugely filtered breaks and beats Dean is known for. Soon the Katharsys trademarks are getting noticed and yes this is wicked team work here. Bassline rolls and the beats rattle on an on, like you are on the battlefield dodging all the hostile gunfire. The ‘Timehole’ on the flip is Katharsys entering the playground solo. Freaked out intro building the tension. The beats start rolling in and you feel the bassline sneaking up you.. Mayhem!

AMALGAM005 – Kitech / Throttler – I am God / Bloody Victory – 12″ Vinyl
The 5th release on Amalgam Recordings brings together 2 artists who have previously released on Amalgam. Kitech from Essex is without a doubt one of the hottest artists in the D&B scene. With a few releases under his belt Kitech is going from strength to strength. He’s now working with Dylan (Freak Recordings) one of the biggest names in the scene. He’s also now part of Anger Management roster and is playing gigs far and wide. Throttler seems to have the cunning knack of being a prolific artist who maintains an extremely high level of production and programming on all his tracks. The level of detail in the programming & the high level of production makes his tracks stand head and shoulders above the rest. Bloody Victory is a immense spine chilling dance floor destroyer. DRUNK019 – Peverelist & Hyetal – The Hum / rrrr – 12″ Vinyl
Punch Drunk continue to twist, redefine and push forward the template of dubstep with a new 12” combining the talents of rising star Hyetal and Bristol veteran Peverelist. As part of the second wave of Bristol dubstep producers, Hyetal has already made his mark, garnering critical acclaim for his recent 12” ‘Phoenix’ on Orca and previously releasing 12”s on labels such as Reduction and Soul Motive in addition to his collaboration with Shortstuff on Punch Drunk earlier this year. This is Peverelist’s second 12” release this year following his ‘Better Ways of Living’ release for Punch Drunk and his recent mix for Resident Advisor. Both producers bring their trademark ingredients to the table, Hyetal’s kaleidoscopic synthesis and Pev’s deadly junglistic rhythm section combine to produce two very different tracks. The Hum is immediately grabbing, brimming with propelling energy and uplifting melodics. The cryptically titled ‘rrrr’ is a much darker disorientating psychedelic affair, slowly luring you into it’s groove, providing another typical Punch Drunk curve ball.

3024010 – Martyn – Left Hander / Shook Up – 12″ Vinyl
After a year dominated with collaborations (the Great Lengths remix double pack), fresh blood and inveterate genre renegades (Illum Sphere’s Titan EP & Altered Natives ‘The Bitch/Crop Duster’ respectively) We at 3024 came to the conclusion a new Martyn release was perhaps overdue. Not so much an album preview as a standalone document of a year spent expanding dance floor horizons over (a great many) seas. 3024’s milestone 10th release arrives in November with 2 brand new Martyn tracks as ‘Lefthander’ clatters in on heavily filtered drums, flickering high hats & garbled radio transmissions before a carousel synth melody breaks through the percussive murk accompanied by a roaming bass line that prioritises restraint over bludgeon. Dubbed out ambience rapidly takes root in the gaps between concrete snares & dissonant brass stabs as bass and synths elevate themselves for one last round of call & response sparring before dissolving back into barely audible dialogue. Steam age industrial monolith ‘Shook Up’ swaps slink for haunted metronomic brutality, snapping quickly into focus first with relentless kicks before bass akin to an Atari2600 playing Berghain looms over the clouded horizon. Offsetting the claustrophobia is the first hints of melody as an impossibly slight piano phrase creeps in, countering rhythmical pummelling with ghost in the machine delicacy. Classically spastic 808 tendrils are underpinned by soaring synth strings as proceedings draw to a juddering close. Capturing 3024’s musical progress with typical accuracy Erosie’s latest sleeve design is perhaps his best yet, echoing the back to basics theme with beautifully austere monochrome geometry curdling into something altogether more volatile at the edges.

DISF011 – Instra:mental / Von D – Voyeur / Like A Bird – 12″ Vinyl
Next up we have the AA side from upcoming artists Von D and Riscotheque. A perfect balance of musical prowess and heavyweight beats and bass, this tune covers all angles nicely.¬¬

One side is a hybrid Hip Hop-Dubstep monster put together by Los Angeles based producer BARE. Finish copy promo. Following the critically acclaimed debut-release of BOB BHAMRAs WEST NORWOOD CASSETTE LIBRARY alias TEAL Recordings presents BLONDE ON BLONDE as its seminal release. This one is surely ment for the dancefloor: an addictive bassline, and a stomping house beat executed as were it a hidden gem dug out in a New York pawnshop. The ubiquitous RAMADANMAN hits the flipside under his PEARSON SOUND monkier, with a rehash of BLONDE ON BLONDE; with subtle references to the original version DAVID KENNEDY takes the remix to quite different, but equally interesting, places. SPEAKS003 – Sekta – Liquid Tek EP – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo.

SLUDGE011 – Ed Solo & Deekline – Blow Out – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. Hold tight the whistle crew, because Ed Solo & Deekline have dropped a meaty mighty ravey sizzler of a track. Blow Out is a sumptuous club banger that riffs off a ravey vocal, junglistic drums and epic pads and strings. The label’s 11th release skips smoothly between full and half time beats and also makes sure to deliver a healthy portion of the kind of bass mayhem you’ve come to expect from Sludge. On the flip, Deekline and Product.01 head out into peaktime ghetto house territory, ripping up a wobbly throwdown of epic proportions to send those hands into the air. Whatever your flavour, this one’s all about the heavy dancefloor ill behaviour. Get on it!

ZAUDIO022 – Genetix – Hangin – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. This young talented duo is showing us how the heavier side of Dubstep should be done! You can really hear from their productions that they know their way around the studio and when you play some of Genetix tunes on a big system, make sure you put up some health hazard signs! Death by subs is a high possibility. Okay, on to the tunes! “Hangin’” is just one of those tunes to watch out for. It will blow your chest up with bass, make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and possibly wet yourself with excitement. That’s only if you’re lucky though. Then we have “Trigger Happy” featuring Persist whose name I seem to be coming across quite a bit at the moment. This tune is great and can’t really choose between this and “Hangin’”. Both are insane! Then last but not least is “Sci Tech” which is on the deeper side. Great tune and a nice way to round off this great EP!

It’s an absolute monster that will eat you for breakfast, lunch, a light snack and then dinner! The production really shines through on their records and you can hear that they have been producing for quite some time. SMOKE014 – Synkro – Angels VIP / Good Loving – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. Synkro is no doubt one of the most talented producers out on the Dubstep circuit at the moment and this single here shows us what Synkro is all about. His profile has been blowing up no end recently and has had a release on Med School (Hospital) and has a track signed on D-Bridge’s imprint Exit, due for release late on the year. First up is a VIP mix of “Angels” that was originally released on a white label late 2009. The original was a favorite with the likes of Headhunter and Intra:mental that were both giving the tune regular rotation. The VIP mix here is a more zooped up, 2 step dance floor roller that sounds clean and smooth on the ear. Very impressive stuff! Then “Good Lovin” on the flip which has been a Synkro favorite of mine for a long time. It’s the side of Synkro that is says “sit back, relax and enjoy”. if you like it nice and mellow, “Good Lovin” is the one for you!

BSR001 – The Eerier Child – Rabid Dogs EP (12” & CD & Poster ) – 12″ Vinyl
The 13 track CD comes in a limited edition package including: a full colour movie poster, a special CD display and the new 12” record. The Eerier Child, a Rotterdam-based producer, now releases 3 new tracks on his newly co-founded label Black Sunday Recordings after previously releasing several successful tracks on labels Mindtrick Records and Redrum Recordz. In a still ongoing journey through various music styles, The Eerier Child found shelter in the bold realms of dubstep. In these very realms, he discovered a world where he could release his full power of fierce rhythms and colourful sounds capes drenched in an eerie atmosphere. Rabid Dogs drags you along, with daggering drums that lure you into uncontrolled excitement at times, and unsettling, yet highly addictive synth lines that make you feel chased by the somewhat darker sides of your own mind at others. This is not for the faint-hearted… The second track Dead and Buried starts off with a dubsound that develops into an energetic mix of driving rhythms and soothing, nostalgic female vocals. Smooth wobbles dance their way into the hearts of listeners. At first glance this seems to be a happy song.. but something’s not quite right… are there monsters lurking in the dark? Pieces takes you aboard an electro spaceship on a little trip to cloud-cuckoo-land. Swaying beats and distinctive horror sounds will sweep you on a dance floor of vast spaces capes, switching from four on the floor to a half time feel. and back.. Yes, this is all so unreal! CD: The album has its own distinguished sound and style that could loosely be described as “a soundtrack for a movie that doesn’t exist”. It uses Hip-hop and Dubstep related influences, but The Eerier Child just uses these minor elements to create more tension and flow to his tracks. To really experience the eerie and horroresque vibe caught on this album we dare you to “put on your headphones and get in a 40 minute trip”.

b1 The Eerier Child – Dead and Burried
b2 The Eerier Child – Pieces

RED005 – ASC – Advent / The Glow – 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. Long time producer and innovator ASC steps to Pushing Red with two fantastic pieces of Detroit-tinged techno. He’s well known in many circles for his wonderful drum & bass releases which more recently have brought him success on such labels Exit, Nonplus & his own Auxilary. His is also known for other tempos and this release is pure evidence that he is just as deadly in this realm as his drum & bass! A. ADVENT: A punishing 4/4 kicks things off before distorted, crushing bass and effects propel this monster into Detroit territory! While this tune is a monster, everything is perfectly layered and everything within the tune makes sense. Reverbed keys and delayed effects pull everything together! Definitely one for the fans who like their beats with a little teeth! AA. THE GLOW: The Glow harks back to the glory days of Warp Records and mid 90′s techno & electronic. A subtle 4/4 keeps the momentum going while the bassline could workout any soundsystem. Lush keys and pads sit perfectly on top creating that wonderful melodic and nostalgia feel! Definitely one for fans of deeper, melodic techno!

AA ASC – The Glow

Coming soon – Martyn “Left Hander / Shook Up” [3024]

Posted 28 October 2010 | By | Categories: news, tracks | No Comments

Scuba Introduces “Triangulation (Interpretations)”

Scuba Introduces “Triangulation (Interpretations)”

Posted 21 October 2010 | By | Categories: news, reviews, tracks | No Comments

Scuba, aka Paul Rose, has been at the forefront of the dubstep scene since its birth. Having founded the innovative and influential Hotflush Recordings label in 2003, he has continually brought colour and depth to an advancing genre, expanding its sonic structure and increasing its influence on the wider electronic scene.

Through Scuba and seminal work by central figures including Distance, Vex’d and more recently Mount Kimbie and Joy Orbison, Hotflush remains crucial to the immediate moment and the developing future of the most exciting aspects of electronic music. In addition to label and production duties, he also runs the massively successful SUB:STANCE night at Berlin’s techno Mecca, Berghain, the sound of which he committed to plastic in a DJ mix released on Ostgut Ton in January 2010.

Scuba

Following the first Scuba LP, A Mutual Antipathy (2008) which was remixed by Marcel Dettman, Martyn and Surgeon, Triangulation (2010) took the Scuba sound to a new level. The collision of dubstep and techno has produced startling music from a wide range of producers in the last few years, none more than Scuba, and that has been well documented. But Triangulation moves past the dubstep/techno axis and into new territory. Working at multiple tempos, the album covers an area ranging from house to experimental drum n bass while retaining the Scuba sound that has become so distinctive.

For Triangulation (Interpretations) new allure is breathed into Scuba’s originals.  The listless beauty of Before is embued with a spine tingling warmth on Scuba’s luscious opening re-edit, Before (After). A remix of Latch by Will Saul & Mike Monday of Simple Records, Aus Music and Buzzin’ Fly, infuses the dubbed out original with a dose of bumping house flavor.  America’s totem of bass Faulty DL takes leave from the original On Deck with a low burring bassline and elegantly woven melodies drawn warmly across the whole. Scuba’s back with the old skool vibes on You Got Me (I Got You) but confidently skips the line by keeping it firmly in this moment. Canadian Deadbeat has showcased his own brand of dub laden electronics for the likes of Wagon Repair,  Scape, Spectral , Musique Risque and Cynosure over the past decade, his remix of Tracers sees him in classic form delivering a deep 7am techno heavy hitter. Joe made an immediate impact on the scene with his 12”s on Hessle Audio and Applepips over the past year, his rework of So You Think You’re Special has a slowly blossoming groove underpinning stuttering percussion, jangling keys and an expertly playful melody that opens out across the sparse background. Finally, South London’s Deadboy offers an understated modern jungle remix of Before with skittering hats and heavy bass that can’t fail to light up floors and faces.

Boddika is better known as AL Bleek who is one half of the duo Instra:mental. Both tracks are far removed from the sound Instra:mental are known for but maintain that analogue warmth and punch which is missing from much of todays music.

Watch out for forthcoming Boddika tunes on Swamp81 and Darkestral.

New D&B Promos

31R048 Rogue State / Concert – Despot 31 Records 12″ Vinyl
Finished copy promo. A side ’Rouge State’ brings the tribal funk and a unique cinematic flavour. An emotive blend of depth and hypnotic energy. Subtly evolving but punched packed, the sub-bass lines are unmistakable. On the flip side ‘Concert’ uplifts with soulful vocals (think Erykah Badu) and a minimal glitchy backdrop. Perfect 12” for the Future beats 31 records imprint.

P51UK020 Reboot The System – Part 2 – Gridlok & Dom / Gridlok Project 51 12″ Vinyl
Finished copy promo. This is the 2nd release in a 3 part series showcasing some of the drum and bass scene’s brightest stars remixing selections from Gridlok’s debut album “Break the System”. Side A | Prolix (Ganja/Hardware/Virus) takes Gridlok and Dom’s storming tune “London’s Burning” and sends it even grimier, even nastier. Massive builds and massive drops, with Prolix’s signature ripping basslines in full effect. Side B | During the release of the “AUTOPSY” album we had a remix contest hosted by Sony on their Acidplanet website. The tune was called “Labrat” and the most impressive submission was by none other than drum and bass’s own Audio (Freak/Hardware/Virus). He’s come far since then having just wrapped up his new LP for Virus Recordings, but in that busy studio schedule he managed to give us a chugging new version of his remix which just couldn’t wait to be heard, so here it is! These tunes have been receiving heavy support from many of the top djs in the scene such as: Andy C, AK1200, A-Sides, Bad Company, Cause 4 Concern, Dieselboy, Ed Rush, Friction, Noisia, Pendulum, Total Science, State of Mind, the Upbeats, and many more.

OK021 Mystical Mentality / Real Deal – Genotype Offkey 12″ Vinyl
Finished copy promo. Enter Genotype…After the huge success of Offkey #20 The Remixes, We are proud to bring you Genotype. An Old school Hardware legend that is now back on his A-Game. This 12″ for OK takes a step away from his dubbed-out outings soon to be available on Voodoo Music & Exit. The two tracks are Mystical Mentality b/w The Real Deal.It is now Genotypes turn to put his stamp on the Offkey blueprint. A Side: Mystical Mentality: The word ROLLER does not even come close to describing this number. A straight two step is laced with the most hypnotizing percussion one could imagine, bringing the track to the front of many deejays boxes. Do not be fooled into thinking this isn’t Techno influenced- Check Jeff Mills ‘Jet Set’ release and you’ll exactly what we mean, Genotype and Offkey are bringing you another angle on our blueprint and in doing so bridging the gap perfectly between techno and b-boyism. The track is underpinned a massive bass that has guaranteed rewinds & plays from London to Colombia. Time to get Mystical indeed. AA Side: The Real Deal: A break driven tear out from Genotype, amens and subs at the ready. Trademark reverbs and delays in the breakdown single towards the pressure incoming. The drop is pure vibes, and the track demands itself to be played at peak time in the set. A real treat from Genotype- splashes of Old Skool keep the track bubbling throughout and the big bass synonymous with genotype is ever present- driving the track home. The first release on the label from Genotype and what a way to start proceedings!

DEAD023 Break It Down – Temper D Deadly Records 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. For the 23rd outing on this imprint deadlyp turns to long time producer temper d, who has had a string of releases on his own imprint and thought it’s time to spread his wings a bit wider as he comes with 2 different tunes than you would expect from him. Both tracks have been doing damage on the dance floor as this 12 offers something for the tech heads and the jump up crew. ‘break it down’ is a techy tearout tune that does what it says on the tin, a short intro that gets straight to the point rolls then gives way to destroying bass, and crazy stabs. One to check for sure. ‘wanna say’ is a gritty styled jump up track . with flowing chords thru out the intro with a whispered vocal ‘ I know what you wanna say’ paired with the crisp beats that take you to the drop. Then all hell is let lose as the gritty b-line and the beats take control clever use of the vocal aid the tracks progress. This tune does serious damage on the floor!!! Support from Temper d , nicky bm, ash attack, to name a few!

CY004 Glurg Monster – Amoss Cyclone Recordings 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. a. Amoss – ‘Glurg Monster’ The atmospheric environment takes you on a journey that steadily rises & then falls into melodic breakdowns. There’s an extreme contrast of slow warping, deep & dirty sublow basslines that gives this track a general dubby style, overlayed with fastpaced complex percussion patterns and face slapping snares. The Glurg Monster’s been released! aa. Amoss – ‘Create More’ The flip side is quite minimalistic & glitchy, yet it’s still dancefloor & rolling. The tune’s intelligent progression builds all the way to the second drop, with steppy punchy kicks & snappy snares, bleeps & techy effects, intricate percussion & harmonious strings. Currently receiving heavy DJ Support from Spectrasoul, Loxy, Data, Outrage, Doc Scott, Sunchase, AMC & many more!

SUBSOL010 Back For The First Time / Geordie Racer – Caspa Sub Soldiers 12″ Vinyl
After a short spell away, Caspa is back with one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year on his own Sub Soldiers imprint. First up is an anthem that has been lighting up dancefloors airwaves globally as of late, in the shape of ‘Back For The First Time’ featuring Dub Police label mate D1. Gathering heavy support on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac & Zane Lowe, as well as being battered in the clubs by the who’s who of dubstep A-listers this is fast becoming one of the biggest tracks to emerge from the scene so far this year and it’s not hard to see why with it’s catchy eutrophic chords and growling bass – this is no doubt going to be one of the tracks of the summer! On the flip Caspa teams up with another label mate; Subscape, for a tune that has torn apart countless dancefloors lately. ‘Geordie Racer’ takes no prisoners with its driving beats and outrageous basslines, anyone who has been lucky enough to be in a rave when this monster drops will no doubt tell you the carnage it creates in the dance. Again gaining support from dubstep royalty and being featured on Caspa’s ‘MyStyle’ mix CD. All in all this is one obscenely big release that you can’t afford to pass on – big things once again from the Caspa & the Sub Soliders / Dub Police camp.

SCREW004 C oast To Coast / Hesitation – Koan Sound / Koan Sound & Asa Screwloose Records 12″ Vinyl
Bristol boys KOAN Sound tracks are synonymous of dark gripping basslines that tear dance floors apart. . ‘Coast to Coast’ fits the filthy profile. The bassline is unpredictably sporadic and diverse and sounds like Batman beating up a rapist in a fucked up Philip K. Dick inspired dystopian future. Seriously. It makes me feel like I’m being subjected to a Voight-Kampff test whilst Harrison Ford tries to figure out if I’m a robot or not… ‘Hesitation’, a collaboration with Southampton’s downtempo maestro Asa, is a beatifically tranquil track driven by celestial vocals and lo-fi garage inspired drums.

HEK009 Tower Block / Béton Brut – TRG Hemlock Recordings 12″ Vinyl
TRG drops the bpm but stands tall for his first outing on Hemlock. Eschewing any notion of ‘feminine pressure’ in favour of a new stripped-back, brutalist sound. A- Side ‘Tower Block’ Straight-estate and 808s. This is the sound of Croydon, Sheffield and Detroit past, demolished and re-built in Cosmin’s unique style. On the flip ‘Beton Brut’ Let’s get brutal. An unsteady climb through some seriously dark space towards a pounding climax. Straight-up his most bare and jacking tune to date.

BRK015 Bleeps / Idée D’un Tropique – Bowly Berkane Sol 12″ Vinyl
After leaving behind the Somalian pirates, Geiom is cruising the sunny waters of the Indian Ocean when he picks up a distress signal on his scanner. He follows the signal until he locates a tiny remote island and a guy called Bowly, who said that he was on his way from France to the New World, but got totally lost. Judging by the age of the map he was using its easy to see how. Bowly spent his time on the island hanging out with the locals who amuse themselves by creating a unique style of music on some amazing handcrafted instruments. Geiom helps Bowly get on his way again, and leaves him with a more useful map. Some months later, Bowly beams over his music as a gift from his new found homeland in Canada – the tracks are like some strange mutation of those distant tropical players and the UK-based pirate radio transmissions that Bowly has been tuning into – Geiom loves the result and decides to send them straight over to Transition in London for mastering and release on Berkane Sol. This 12” has been getting played by selectors like – Subswara crew NYC (Soul Motive), Brackles (RinseFM), Grevious Angel (Soul Jazz), Martin Kemp (Blunted Robots), Cooly G (Hyperdub), Shortstuff (Ramp), Spamchop (Wigflex), Oneman (RInseFM)…

RWINA008 My Vitamin Pillbox Nikes / The Love – Noah D Rwina Records 12″ Vinyl
The eighth release of the infamous Rwina Records is brought to you by Noah Dickinson, better known as Noah D, or perhaps Noah Deezy if he happened to have a Paul Wall grill in his mouth. His 2009 megahit “Seeeriousss” slammed almost every imaginable chart all over the world and established as an all-around talented and respected producer, covering the whole spectrum of sounds from food for thought to dancefloor smashers. This time, the bass music legend from Portland (USA) delivers two deeper-edged cuts spilling over with street-smart bass swagger, a bit-for-bit perfect match with the type of music that Rwina has been pushing lately. On the A-side, “My Vitamin Pillbox Nikes” is an arresting combination of gully sounds from the block and forward-thinking programming that’ll tickle your brain each and every time you put this one on. The subs are one of a kind and the g-funk synthline expertly recalls the West-Side Connection glory days: bow down! On the flip, “The Love” dispatches a tender message straight from the heart, contrasted with a rough melody and harsh drums that’ll make you question what sort of undertones lie beneath this tune. All things said and done, Noah D delivers a unique and fresh release that’s a must for the deeper heads out there or the party-hardy jocks that want to spice up their sets without losing the impact.

DVA006 Dis Boy (DVA’s Hi Emotions Remix) – Cooly G / Scratcha DVA DVA Music 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. The label’s sixth release is no exception. DVA’s remix of Cooly G’s ‘Dis Boy’ turns an already seductive track into a spaced-out dream: in the place of Cooly’s stripped down production it’s got all the psychedelic electronic subtleties and twists you might expect to hear in a Berlin techno tune, but actually brings her sophisticated vocal melodies more to the fore than the original version. The rhythm’s syncopations, meanwhile, move along in lazy leaps as if dancing in lowered gravity. Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 perform a similar job of total transformation on DVA’s own ‘Jelly Roll’. They play the original’s cheeky, cheery melody backwards, forwards, sideways and upside-down, bouncing it off itself in a hall of audio mirrors and allowing glassy synths to slide between the beats and bass. It’s a strange, slightly sinister and intoxicating reworking – one to get lost in. Bonus track ’32Da4′ is something else entirely; as you may guess from the title it’s in 3 time – a bizarre, slithering dubstep waltz that flows out of the speakers and around itself in unique style. Lesser producers would build whole movements on such an innovative tune, but for DVA it’s just another step in a compelling musical evolution.

HENCH020 Serial Killa – Eddie K Hench 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. These tracks have been causing quite a stir…So tantalisingly disgusting that the likes of Rusko, Sukh Knight, NType, Doctor P, Flux Pavillion, Jakes and Trolley Snatcha can’t leave it alone! Eddie K is no newcomer to the dance music scene. Starting out as a drum and bass producer, his debut releases made an impact amongst the scene with tracks such as Planet Terror and My Sound remaining in DJs bags to date. More recently, Ed’s been making a significant entry into the dubstep world. His first dubstep release on H.E.N.C.H (Who’s the Hardest / The Shivers) had big reactions from all of the top names in the scene, which led up to his next release; his dubstep remix of DJ Prime Cuts ft. MC Dynamite – Warning, released on DSR at the end of 2009. This reached #2 in the Beatport dubstep download chart and recently featured in the latest instalment of Xbox’s ‘Crackdown’ franchise. His latest release sees him collaborate with Hench youngster, Minus, along with emphatic appearances by London-based vocalist, Beezy, and Bristol’s Shadz. If this release doesn’t serve as a tribute to the different directions dubstep has taken within recent years, then it certainly acts as proof that Eddie K’s sound and production skills have matured quicker than we could have anticipated.
A: SERIAL KILLA (FT. BEEZY & MINUS) – You might well have heard about Serial Killa before hearing the track itself. Arriving just in time to establish itself as a summer dancefloor destroyer, many a raver will soon be witnessing the floor shake when this one gets dropped. Beezy’s twisted hook line cuts short the euphoric intro and lets loose to a siren-like bassline. This is the kind of track that will have the neighbours pulling the curtains shut and calling the Police.
AA: STARLIGHT – A favourite of the D Style camp, Eddie K takes us on his maiden voyage into this aspect of dubstep production. Touching on the techno-tinged, atmospheric vibes similar to Komonamuk’s ‘You Fo’ release early in 2010, ‘Starlight’ is a track that would sit as comfortably in Laurent Garnier’s bag as any dubstep DJ’s. Forward thinking and high-paced the echoey background and sub bass contribute to creating one of the Hench imprint’s deepest tracks to date.

O4H002 Cant Stand The Rain – Silverman One4Ho 12″ Vinyl
Finish copy promo. As with most things, the most interesting things happening in the monolith of a genre that is dubstep are happening at the fringes. cinematic second release for the brand new Berlin label One4Ho. Borrowing syncopation concepts from other genres and combining them with eerie vocal samples, One4Ho creates a mixture of dubstep that’s almost new genre in itself Using the mournful vocal and drip-drop sample from Ann Peebles’ track of the same name, the wobble in ‘Can’t Stand The Rain’ sounds like a massive industrial turbine in some torrential dystopian deluge. Dark, heavy and relentless. This tune has been receiving play from the likes of Falty DL, Starkeyand Clark, who also provides a soul crunching remix that seems to flip the original track’s concept of memory, love and loss into a 3 and a half minute masterpiece of dream like emotional manipulation.

RED003 Azure / Avoid The Noid Remixes – Jus Wan / DJG Pushing Red 12″ Vinyl
With the success of Pushing Red’s first two releases, we decided we would step things up with remixes from the scenes top producers in their respected genres. Both F & Headhunter need no introductions fusing unique ideas & production values when it comes to dubstep & techno. These two remixes showcase both style and class in a way that only F & Headhunter can pull off and we are truly honoured to have them involved.
A. Azure (F Remix) – Kicking things off is F with a outstanding recreation of Jus Wan’s already classic ‘Azure’. A sneaking intro builds on the original pads before dropping into a steady snare. Growling bass slowly sneaks into the picture and drops into and perfect blend of rough & smooth. F has taken an already great tune and kept the integrity of the original, while giving it his own signature flavour. Classic remix!
AA. Avoid The Noid (Headhunter Remix) – Another man who needs no introduction has graced us with a superb remix of DJG’s ‘Avoid The Noid’. Headhunter takes things very deep with a thumping 4/4, deep house kind of affair. A deep kick keeps the pace with deep low end that will work out any sound system. The original pads have been drawn out and sprinkled with the original key work. Fans of deep dubstep and house will love this tune and we hope as much as we do!

Devnik (Bart) is an electronic music from the Netherlands. Devnik started producing in the late summer of 2008, just as a joke. As time passed, the music got better and better. First being into electro fidgety beats and getting signed on the English electro label Live-In Music, he eventually found out about a thing called dubstep. Dubstep now is his main goal, already being signed to Dubline Audio and having played along the likes of FuntCase, Cookie Monsta, Borgore, Unitz, Subscape, Crissy Criss, KOAN Sound, Ganja White Night, Sinister Souls, Osiris, Vyron, Switched Sources and more, Devnik is ready to destroy the dancefloor.
